I did! Except I did some research and found out that, in fact, the people of Medieval Europe weren't anywhere near as filthy as the people of the Renaissance or even later periods. Who knew? So I kept the swords and daggers because I liked them, but left the other details vague. :)
Very excellent! I did like this insight into Jim's character-- it's apparent he's sort of being a seasoned captain and Bones with the rope burns makes me sad, but then everything worked out.
Yeah, it did. I can't be too mean to them. *g* I was going with the idea that Jim's still quite young and untried, and he has all this pressure to be amazing all the time. He's bound to buckle a little in the beginning.
I liked the "adultness" of this. By that I mean they talked, there was sex, but love, too, and in the end, kindness. Both of their jobs are so stressful, it makes me glad they have each other.
So good! I love seeing them behaving as adults which doesn't preclude conflicts, especially when Bones is being a healer first and foremost. I'm glad that Jim went to Bones and they talked and worked it out and that McCoy was strong enough to compliment Jim because the captain had done his job and done it as good as he could under the circumstances.
