Your apartment's insurance company should pay, shouldn't they? I remember that being a feature in the landlord policies we were looking at.

Turns out the insurance is going to pay, yeah, but it's going to be the insurance of the guy who left the water on.

As long as it's not you, who did nothing wrong and has to endure being horrifically inconvenienced because your neighbor is a moron.

The apartment complex should pay for a hotel for you! This is ridiculous on so many levels, but you should not foot the bill for any of this! Just ridiculous! :(

Yeah, they are. It's still going to be a pain in the butt (I can't really bring my desktop computer with me, going to try using an old laptop), and I suppose I'll be eating out for three days, but... it could be worse.

Did you contact your renter's insurance company? maybe they can help you out in some way? Just seems so wrong for you to have to pay for all of this upfront when none of it was your fault in any way shape or form.

Thankfully the apartment complex is paying for the hotel room, though I suppose I have to cover eating out for three days...

Oh man, how sucky. Surely they would have to make the neighbour pay something? Who does that? I hope nothing of yours was damaged.

Thankfully almost nothing of mine got ruined. A rug and a pair of old sneakers.

Word is, the guy's insurance is going to have to pay for all the repairs. I wish they'd make the guy himself pay for them...

Oh man, that sucks! :( Hope you can find something! I totally second the complex getting you a hotel room though.

Thanks. Luckily they're going to pay for me going to a pet-friendly hotel. I'm not looking forward to it at all, but it could be a lot worse.
