It wasn't that he regularly went up into the higher-class streets; he didn't look like he fit the bill, what with the clothes he wore (they weren't dirty, but they weren't exactly nice or fancy or expensive, and they looked it) and the painfully obvious lack of outward surgery. Still, he blended in with the crowds all right, and if he kept to the edges of the streets he could avoid much in the way of being noticeable. He'd long since given up getting irked over being ignored ( ... )

"Nn..." Luke groaned as he sat up and a few more books drop to the concrete around him. Lesson one from the real world... books are vengeful. Years of using them for amusing building projects and projectiles seems to have left them scorned. He could only be grateful that Master Van or Guy weren't around to see them getting their payback.

This wasn't exactly the series of events he'd envisioned when he daydreamed about this journey. Laughter at his expense was another one of those things. 'So much for blending in.' Glancing up the red head spotted the source of the cackling. His face heated and turned a shade similar to his hair.

Okay, so it wasn't the most graceful of starts but what gave this slovenly looking old man the right to laugh at him? And what the hell are you gawking at, old man?" He barked out in annoyance, clutching a near by book and tossing it at the man's torso. It was a soft cover book which he regretted, but the malice behind it felt clear enough to him regardless.

The book hit and bounced off, fortunately softcover and therefore not about to leave a bruise. Kasai mastered his snickering and swept it up off the sidewalk, approaching the kid and the fallen stand of books with a grin on his face. Funny shit, seriously funny shit ... and there was the store's owner, busy at the register, glancing over at the mess with a scowl. A minor instance of chaos. Now, would he fix it or just leave the kid to his own devices ( ... )

'Useless books. It could of at least winded the guy.' Luke thought in disappointment as the text flopped pathetically before it was scooped back up. At first the teen was expecting the book to be flung back at him but it seemed the bum was still too busy giggling at him to get mad. His ego suffering by the minute.

The closer this stranger got though the more out of place he seemed. Though Luke wasn't an expert on the outside world and it's fashions but the others here were dressed more like his parents or servants this dusty fellow on the other hand, looked ...well dusty. Perhaps he'd fallen into some dirt?

"I did not knock myself ove- Well I didn't mean to knock anything over. Stupid books just ...follow me." He muttered and started climbing back onto his feet. "Surgery didn't screw anything on me." He said testily before catching himself. "And my balance is just fine without it! It's the book shelf that's off." He insisted ( ... )
