[Kurt's pretty sure he's got this event all figured out. He's about six or so, but he wasn't always. His dad's not here (which is highly upsetting) and neither is his mom (which is even more upsetting than that, because he knows she's gone but he still wants her there). Some of his friends are here though, and that's good. He remembers all about

[Dean was just going to step into the kitchen for a burger, but there are tiny pastries everywhere. The air is sickeningly sweet with the cloying scent of baked sugar, and holy shit please say there's pie.
Then he realizes the source of the cooking. It's a tiny child that looks like-]

Kurt waves over at Dean like nothing weird happened a couple of weeks ago at all and smiles wide.]
Hi, Dean! I'm going to have a tea party! Wanna come?
Reply
[...pass?
Dean leans across the counter, reaching for a cookie.]
...I don't really do tea. You got any OJ?
Reply
...Well. Okay. But you have to drink it in a tea cup. And you have to drink it right.
[You know, pinky out and all that. Kurt hops off the chair and goes over to the fridge, knowing there will be OJ in there.]

[Oooo, that looks like fun. He thinks it's a little girly, but if a guy's hosting, then it's all good! Right?]
What kinda tea and stuff are you makin'?

It's going to be Earl Grey tea with milk and sugar, and I'm making lots of cakes and cookies for everyone! Chocolate cake, sugar cookies, brownies...there's a pretzel mix somewhere here too.
[No lie. Pretzels in Easy Bake Ovens are a thing now. Really.]

[ohgod pretzels and brownies. Kurt has a new best friend.]

[And he preens, so proud of what he's like at sixteen years old.]

...What are you?
[He's pretty sure he'd remember a giant bug. ...But there are a lot of weird things in the mansion, and it would probably be mean to not let it come to his party just because she's a bug. She can't help being a bug!]
Um...do you want to come to my tea party too?

At his invitation, however, she nods and becomes more animated because it sounds like it's going to be fun]

[She must be one classy little bug thing then!]
What's your name?
[He knows she can't really talk, but it'd be rude not to ask! Plus it gives him an extra minute to come up with something to call her.]

Hi! I'm Sokka! I don't care about tea and all, but I like nice things!
[Like food. Food is such a nice thing. It's the best of all the things. Clearly, it's as superior as playtime, if not more!]

I've got Orange Juice too, I guess. But tea's better, so you're missing out.
[But you know what's the best? Little cakes and cookies.]

How does tea even go with cake? Even orange juice is better!
[...Sokka just doesn't get along with stuffy people, even as a six year old.]

[Kurt was sort of born this way, as the song goes. He can't help it that he appreciates fine culture better than everyone else!]
It's better with it than orange juice.

Hi Shannon! Do you wanna come to my tea party?
Reply
[Oh, she shouldn't have scared him. But at least he didn't seem mad.]
Um, yes. Do you need any help?
Reply
[He scoots over so she can come help him mix mixes and things. The initial hesitation was really only because he wasn't sure if she liked anything like this. It's not a football or a basketball or anything like that? But she asked, so she must want to, right? So he's over that assumption pretty fast.]
