Anakin blinked stupidly, raising himself to a half-way seated position and leaning heavily on his elbow.

"Don't you understand?!" he screamed at the younglings and advancing Jedi Masters (none of whom were actually there). "I did it for you! I saved you! That's what I wanted!"

Padmé stirred in her unconsciousness. Somewhere inside, she was struggling to awaken, but the psychosis was still in full effect.

She lay there limply, a hand still clutched to her abdomen even in her sleep.

Shego trudged in, covered in blood from head to toe. After her meeting with Teal'c, and helping him escape the blood and spirits, she'd come directly to the infirmary to find Anakin.

He looked crazed. Shego slapped him, hoping to bring him into reality. Her hand left a bloody print. Her eyes were still wide, after seeing her only son dead--

Anakin reeled from the force of the blow, tasting blood in his mouth.

"I'm sorry," he said again, holding a hand to his cheek. "I SAID I WAS SORRY! STOP HITTING ME!" Shego faded in and out of his vision, he wasn't entirely sure if she was there or not.

Anakin hurled a bedpan towards Andrew.

"IT'S MY FAULT YOUR DEAD, DARRA! I SHOULD HAVE SAVED YOU!"

Solidus' one remaining eye bulged slightly. Hadn't these people ever been held hostage before?! They were carrying on as though he wasn't even there, the two masked men kept going on about dropping weapons, and the God-damned Patriots were in his head again, telling him he was such a good boy, they wouldn't shut upWell. Nothing like an execution to make them sit up and take notice. The wounded boy looked too far gone to be of use to the revolution, so Solidus sighted on his head ( ... )

Padmé began to scream in her sleep, twisting on the bedcovers in agony.

Palpatine was very, very slowly cutting her unborn children from her. Laughing at her the whole time and staring down at her with his sickly yellow eyes, his broken grin.

She couldn't awaken from the nightmare.

Ferus couldn't believe his eyes. The scream had come from Padmé. She was writhing, seemingly in pain on the bed.

'Padmé. Padmé!'

She was still intermittently screaming, tears and agony on her face.

'Wake up!' He grabbed her hand, looking around frantically. Why was nobody else doing anything for her? He froze, a sick feeling rolling through his stomach.

Anakin had left. With Shego. He'd left his own wife here, clearly in the grips of some terror from which she couldn't wake up.

'Padmé, it's okay, it's okay,' he soothed, rubbing her arm, willing her to still. The screams stopped, at least, but the tears and the twisting continued.

Solidus was still down, and Rorschach was safely bat-cuffed, which left Doc free to help with Padme. "Her symptoms are consistent with certain variations of the Scarecrow's fear toxin," he growled. "Unfortunately I don't have the antidote with me."

Lying on the floor, Rorschach struggled uselessly with his cuffs. "Olin. Don't listen to Mcninja. He's gone completely insane. Almost everyone has."

Well, this explained it then. Insane, indeed. And thankfully, he and Tycho had thus far escaped whatever psychoses seemed to be sweeping over the people he'd encountered since leaving Tycho's apartment.

'Great. Just great.'

Ferus looked blankly at the doctor before turning his focus back to Padmé. He placed a hand to her forehead and closed his eyes, drawing on the Force to try to project a sense of calm, of safety onto her.
