Real menus really badly translated

Mar 06, 2006 15:59

Finally, a menu with food that is burnt and menu items that include "Cowboy Leg Beautiful Pole", "Man fruit braise", "F*ck the salt" and "Every form of rape" (to go?). And here's another set of menus that include, "Sand" (salad), "Butter Many Privates", "The bureau swallows to take the fish idea powder" and many more.

Thanks to cogitationitis.

links, fun, silly

Well, except for 'Oor Hamlet' sung by Adam McNaughton (lyrics but not music on Interenet). Heard that one in the car yesterday during Thistle and Shamrock, and almost drove off the road.

I'll be having some farmer is small to fry king.

tee hee.

(or a testimony to NOT using Babelfish without a native speaker doublecheck.

There are some gems. At first we nerds suspect some sort of crappy translation software, but then the word fuck slips in just to make that unlikely. I see a new career for those of use willing to travel… a professional menu translator. Oy.

Oh. My. God.

Someone owes me a new lung - I laughed so hard at a few of those that I spit mine out.

I find myself particularly wondering what a "Joss-stick" is, but I probably don't want to know.

You have an icon that reads, "Will give head for dessert," and yet you claim not to have any idea what a Joss-stick is? Surely not!

(I really did chuckle at the icon BTW)

Honestly, I've never heard the phrase before. I'm associating it with Joss Whedon in a way that would make several of my friends blush. :)

And I got the icon from someone in the queerasfolkfans community. (It's a quote from the show.) I forget who created it, though. I usually credit people in my userinfo, but with this one and a few others, I clearly forgot.

Spoilsport ;). Hmmm, you might say it would incense you to eat it? :P (ow, I think I pulled something)
