The BBC reported that a bomb blew up part of a statue of Lenin in Leningrad... so that it looks like he had a truly explosive fart. BEst image of the day.

Haha, yeah, that was pretty good, sort of a classic geek trick. In fact my coworker pulled this on my boss.

For math geeks who want real math and not yet another joke, A site called Scrivener's Error points out that today is 01/04/09, which is "One four nine. The squares of the first three integers." They go on to proclaim today, Monolith Day.

Presumably, you celebrate that during the 25th hour of today. Except that...doh!

My favorite is the one at www.psfs.org, sent to me by Number #1 son. Just amazing for those of us familiar with the PSFS members.

The one the got me until my coffee kicked in was one of the more subtle ones -- http://addons.mozilla.org has "Firefox Change-Arounds" today. SOunds just like the sort of "friendly" terminology some marketing folks come up with, doesn't it?

That's fun. Amazing that every little corner of the web seems to get involved.

I also liked that iTunes this week is offering, as a free Classical download, John Cage's 4' 33", which you probably know contains no notes, it's completely silent. :)
Actually, only the first part, you have to pay $1.98 to get the second two parts, ha ha ha.
