It seems I'm Lieutenant Commander Unrealistic Expectations. My clothes don't fit. Shouldn't they fit by now? Well, let's see, 3 weeks and 1 day ago, you were pregnant with twins. What do you think? Someday, I'll be promoted to Captain Obvious. Just keep my chin up and my nose clean. It's like being in the military -I only have 2 pair of pants that ( Read more... )

C is also proud of you!

Not on FB, but just yesterday chickenhat pointed me to your other LJ, which I'd somehow missed. Very happy to be able to follow along!

Check out pictures of a treed panda cub in my journal (Sunday entry) for something cute!

Hang in there!

Uh, I STILL don't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes, and I'm 9 1/2 years out, lol. In other words, yeah. It takes time.

And boy do I understand about the hormones. Postpartum depression is a real thing, and even if things aren't as bad as all that, it's hard in the beginning, regardless. Plus, the added stress of having the girls still in the hospital is tough, too. For what it's worth, I think you're doing great.

As for clothes, have you thought about just getting a few items from a thrift store? Just enough to get you through. Alternatively, if you know what size you're wearing right now, you could always do a shout out to friends. Women often have a variety of sizes in their wardrobes; i.e., "skinny" and "fat" clothes, that you could borrow during this in-between time. Just a couple of ideas. :-)

Hi! Good for you for asking for help. More obvious childbirth-related advice is to take people seriously when they say they're happy to help - move that into concrete territory as fast as possible!

I can't take you for a coffee, but I'm happy to Skype - and we sent a case of canned soup to friends who had twins in the fall, as they had no time/energy for healthy meal prep. If you'd like some kind of practical care package (I have no mental energy for something clever and spontaneous, sorry!), just let me know! Hugs - E.

P.S. I also thought the advice immediately above, about temporary clothing, was brilliant. I've got many more sizes now than ever before... :)
