I have completed over 37,000 words on my manuscript. Woot! I'm still plugging away, though slower than I should like. Teaching elementary school for the first time ever has been far more draining than I had anticipated. 31548 words of this morning. Trying to pick up the pace and write everyday. I findwhen I don't, I lose interest in the story. Gotta have a daily dose, I suppose. :) And quit criticizing as I write. It's counter productive, ding dong.

We're still alive here. I have added three turkeys and two chickens (chooks for you British types) to the nanohomestead here. They seem to be doing well, and I hope they continue to do so. I sewed a pair of shorts for Sprog, using a worn out boy scout shirt that a friend let me have after I transfered the patches to a new shirt. Feel pretty smug with myself, though we had one harrowing moment where he decided to stick his finger in the sewing machine. It crunched his finger, but no long term damage. My writing slowed a bit, as I am just now making it to 17,000 words as of yesterday. I am self-sabotaging again, but at least I recognize it for what it is instead of accepting the bullshit whispered by my inner critic. Just need to keep pushing ahead ( Read more... ) -

I'm thinking about setting up a facebook page for my psuedonym. I could update my word count and maybe stir up a little buzz that might work to my advantage when dealing with agents. Seems a waste not to utilize such a networking tool that is ridiculously easy to access from home. Plus, it might help me with my motivation when I try to derail my ( Read more... ) -
Sprog update
According to his babysitter, the Sprog said "Mommy" today. Of course, every time she tried to get him to say it, he looked at me as though to say, "I have no idea what she is talking about." Do you think an Amish woman would lie about that? Hehe.
