I am about 3/4 done with Christmas shopping. I have to get another present for Mr T, and something for my youngest niece, and something for my mom. I have no idea what to get her. For my niece, I need to find out what other people got her from the list my sister (her mom) provided and get something they didn't. For my mom, I am thinking of earrings ( Read more... )

PENGUINDRUM IS SO FABULOUS. Not quite as fabulous as Utena, but what is? Penguindrum half the time serves as a glorious tribute to Utena lol.

I am totally intrigued & fascinated ♥ (I'm only on ep 6, so I hope it maintains consistency)

eta: the cat stepped on my keyboard as I was writing this, and managed to post it before I was ready, so I had to edit and then edit again to say I LOVE YOUR PENGUINDRUM ICON!

Penguindrum has the same director as Utena, so the similarities are all over the place. I think Ikuhara has more free reign with Penguindrum, and he likes his shock value, so there's more of that (which is why I think Utena is the better of the two, because sometimes the "OMG NEVER SAW THAT TWIST COMING" gets to be a little too much in Penguindrum).

hahaha, did you not notice? I TRY to do a Christmas letter -- I started in 2001, when all my midwestern cousins wondered what it was like to live in a post-terrorist NYC--but about 40% of the time I fail. Though I do try to persist. Once I sent it in March as a Happy Spring letter. With Chinese New Year cards ...
