Ugh, have been sick with a virus and a fever and pukeyness and missing work, since Monday evening--all relatively unusual for me. The few hours while being feverish made me feel rather delightfully stoned were OK, but the longer hours of feeling like I had chronic arthritis (killer joint pain, couldn't sleep) and the headache, earache, sore throat

Actually I think KS' birth mother is gorgeous even now and YS' birth mother clearly was pretty when young. Can't say the same about the men though :) But I tink it's because they are character actors, not former stars. Some older actors are very attractive. E.g. Choi Min Soo is still very handsome and I find Kim Gap Soo quite quite appealing in an older man kind of way. Lee Mi Suk (evil Mom in Baker and Cinderella Unni) is drop-dead gorgeous. It's just you can cast a plain-looking person for an older person role but for protagonists you only need hotties so the field is narrower.

yes, I was thinking after I wrote the above that some of the older women in the castare very attractive, but they are all bad girls (and Lee Mi Suk IMMEDIATELY came to mind, since she is red hot hot). And one way they make Jin Joo look "handicapped" is with bad hair (though the actor does have a fabulous body which they don't always manage to conceal).

yes, Gloria is AWESOME. Though at first when I watched it I was so sick that I didn't realize that the guitar player and MC at the club are the SAME GUYS as the ones in granny's house, lol. I kept thinking it was so interesting that there were all these parallel roles ...

They do waaaay more plastic surgery on the younger ones than they did in the old days, is what I think is the cause... nowadays PS is like a routine thing if you want to be a star in Korea, unfortunately... eyelid surgery is just the tip of the iceberg!

yeah, I feel like the "better-looking" older cast members definitely show signs of having had work done. I just think it's funny that the supposed fathers of these total hotties look like bespectacled beetles in suits.

Oh no! I hope you're feeling better in time to enjoy the concert! I mean, I'm sure Jin's a good distraction from illness but it would be such a shame if you weren't feeling well enough to enjoy it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I am better, and back at work today. But I am definitely going to rest up before venturing out tomorrow to the theater! I feel a bit drained still.
