I've just watched Persepolis, at last. It's a wonderful film- the story draws you in, and the bitterness of the tragedy is quite overwhelming. The animation is beautiful too- there's barely any detail in the characters' designs and their lines are all very clear and simple, but the intricacy of the symbolism is beautiful. Clearly not everybody will be into the femmeslash (although actually, I do partly think it's just people not giving it a chance, because when I first got into fanfic I assumed I wouldn't like it and avoided it for ages... but when I actually started reading it I loved it and now sometimes I love the girl pairings more than the boy pairings). But I reckon a significant number of people are, so why not start the community? It would be good to have it all together in one place.

I'm glad Persepolis is good, I've wanted to see it for ages so it's good to know I have something to look foward to. *sigh* I hate that the DVDs here at the wrong region for my laptop. It's going to be a massive DVD-spending spree when I get back for Christmas, I think...
