I'm Going To Lose It!!!

I was thinking, about The Yarn Project, this morning. I was sipping my coffee (with Irish Creme), and watching TLC. (They were showing this program, where people were making these EXTREME cakes. They were pretty damned cool.) One of the ladies, working on one of the cakes, said something, while adding fondant ( Read more... )

I know how you feel. I have found knitting needles in my dogs bed completely chewed apart. But she knows how to worm her way into your good books again. But I mean, how can you not love this face?

Right? It's like they are EVIL deliberately. Then, they give you the "puppy dog eyes", knowing they will get off the hook.

I was pretty sure which yarn you were using after you described your frustration. It's LionBrand Homespun. That yarn is not crochet friendly IMHO. I'm not too fond of it for knitting either. But knitting is far easier than crocheting with that stuff. Kudos to you for not setting fire to it and making a cute little cell phone case. I hate that yarn.

After getting your comment, I went to the Lion Brand website. I do believe you are right, in the yarn title. I am not too happy, with this yarn. It is pretty, but a beast to work with.

yup - I also knew right away it was LB Homespun - I have crocheted many blankets using this stuff, and it is not very user friendly - but at least it's soft!

No...it most definitely is not user friendly. Hehe. I love the way it looks (and feels) though.

I think anyone with pets learns the hard way about leaving things out in the open for curious little beasts to get to...what can you do? There's been many times we would have liked to throttle one of our fur-monsters for destroying something LOL

I was not happy, with it. I cried, and cried, and cried. He had to go, for an arm. He had to destroy something, that was a complete PAIN, to work.

But the bottom line is - you love him anyway!

Sorry about the arm and other posters are right - homespun is hard to work with but makes a lovely soft finished object. It is what I used to make your bear.

At least you have the arms done and are working on ears now.

Hugs, happy stitching and selling,

Kae

Yeah...through it all, I love my dog.
The yarn is pretty, but hard to work with. (I have even more appreciation, for my bear now.)
Thank goodness, I am done with the arms/legs. They were just beastly. The ears are so easy.
Well...have a great night, my friend.

Oh noooo! I'm so sorry about your poor lion's arm! But hey, at least you've got plenty of time before your deadline. And you got another chance to practice. ; )

This is true. I have plenty of time. And, I got another arm done (after my fit), so it worked out, I guess. But, never again, will I leave ANY yarn stuff, in dog's reach.
