There once was a time, not too long ago, when things mattered, to me. One of those things, was personal appearance. I would strive to ALWAYS look my very best. I loved the word picture you created today. :) I can just see you all scruffy and dishevelled. I have been there. Ok maybe not scruffy, but at least sloppy! lol

I like your new mantra too. Challenges build character.

Well thank you. I just took a look in the mirror, today. So not a good sight. Me, with black facial hair, poking off my cheeks, like wiry splinters. And, a slouchy shirt, bad hair, my glasses, and ripped up shorts.
Oh yeah...that's hot. Lol.

Scruffy is one thing. But, I think I passed scruffy, a few day back. Lol.

Glad to see you have found something productive to replace obsessive preening in front of the mirror! LOL.

I saw a sign today that sort of fits, "Stress is garbage to your body - so dump it often". For me, stitching is my stress garbage can which I fill and empty often.

You should do what I do. I knit (or crochet) while hanging out with people. It's a little tricky if you are counting or learning something new or difficult but for the most part, you can totally be social and work with yarn at the same time ( ... )

Thank you for all of your great ideas, here.
I am gett5ing a little better about crocheting, while people are talking around me. It used to ANNOY me, big time. Now, I can go a while...but it will still aggravate me, in the long run. I think once I get further along, it wil be no big deal.
