The Upcoming Surgery

Yesterday...
After writing my entry, I threw on the first clean shirt, and pair of pants, I could find (which, surprisingly, went together very well.) And, I was on my way to my therapy appointment.
The day was starting off well. On my way to my appointment, I was thinking about how my day would be spent. I would come home, after pouring out my soul ( Read more... )

Good For You! inknbeans September 23 2010, 17:22:56 UTC
Prior to June could you say you wouldn't have spent the entire day dwelling on, fearing, and being angry about the upcoming surgery? You are changing. You've crocheted yourself into a new man. Who knows what knitting will do for you.

You will be in my prayers, Michael.

I would have still been angry. But, back then, I would have dwelled on it, nonstop. At least now, I have yarn, to keep me busy.
I do think I am becoming a new person. This little Project, of mine, is changing me.
And thank you...It is nice to know I will be in your prayers.

I'm so excited for your mom to open her shawl! She has to love it!

I'm so glad you found tranquility in your yarn. That is the way it should be. :)

I am hoping that she will like it.
Yes...yarn has taught me so much. This Project continues to teach me new things, every day. By the end of this two year cyle, I will know so much more, than I do now.

Prayers, cruising and yarn kae1crafts September 23 2010, 19:15:52 UTC
Michael,

First a huge {{{HUG}}} and I'm sorry that you are facing more extensive surgery. It does sound as if you finally have a good doctor who will take wonderful care of you.

Enjoy yourself, rest and relax on the cruise - in fact have a truly marvelous time. We will all be here waiting to hear all about it when you return.

Yarn therapy is wonderful and I'm glad to hear that you are able to use it to help you kick the worries and blues.

Many hugs and a wonderful trip. Hoping to have a few pictures of your mom wearing the lovely shawl.

Hugs and happy stitching,

Kae

Kae,
This past year has been a nightmare. This surgery, well...I am not to thrilled with the idea of it. But, it has to be done.
This cruise is coming at a PERFECT time. I will (hopefully), be able to lose myself, completely, in the fun that is to be had. Casinos, shows, wonderful food, waterslides, decadent drinks, art auctions...and of course, seeing my mother light up. I am looking forward to it.

It baffles me that doctors can be so neglectful. I mean, isn't the whole point of becoming a doctor supposed to be to HELP people, to HEAL?! And yet there are doctors out there who actually do more harm than good. It confuses and angers me.

I am so glad that you now seem to have a good doctor who is not only doing his job, but cleaning up the mess of another. I realize that this surgery isn't what was planned, but hopefully the end result will still be the same. Prayers that this surgery will eliminate all infection and pain!

Working with yarn is such a stress reliever (even when it's being a PITA!). It's such a great and productive way to take your mind off all the rest of the troubles of the world. A way to relax and just melt into your own reality. I'm glad that it has been such a haven for you, especially yesterday. =)

Oh and I can't wait for you to tell us about your mom's reaction to the shawl!!!

Thank you so much, for your kind words, on my upcoming surgery. I am TERRIEFIED, over it. But, it is nice to know that all my readers are out, supporting me. That means the world to me.
As for the yarn.
Well...
The Yarn Project has been a Godsend, really. I am very happy that I chose to do this little experiment. It turns out, that this blog, and yarn are the only things I have control, over.
And, I will definately be writing of my mother's reaction, to the shawl.
