The Support, I Thought I Had

Sep 14, 2010 08:35

Yesterday, there was actually very little, that got accomplished, in terms of my afghan-in-the-works. I was miserable, being kept from it, but there were so many other things, that needed to be done. I think, at the end of the day, I had averaged about 2 hours, MAX, in time spent with my yarn and hook.
Nowhere near enough time, to sastisfy the urge.

Michael, repeat after me: You are entitled to your opinion. I am entitled to mine. My opinion is if you're not paying for my yarn, or paying me to do something else with my time, then your opinions have no weight in my decision to continue this project. END OF DISCUSSION.

Now go to a mirror, place your left hand over your left ear, your right hand over your right ear, and practice closing your eyes and saying, 'La la la la la I can't hear you la la la la'

Hehe.
Thanks for this cute little message. It is true.
I don't really know why this individual's lack of support, hurt me so very bad. I think it may be because, this whole time, I thought that I, in fact, HAD support.
I will get through this.

Your obsession is no laughing matter (except when you mean to be funny)! I share the same obsession. I, also, have no time in my schedule to be a false-supporter. :)

To quote Robin Hood from Disney's cartoon version when Robin shows up to the little bunnies birthday right after that "Mean Ole Sherriff" stole his birfday present: "Now be a stout heart and don't let 'em getcha down".

Consider this your Crocheter's Anonymous group. :)

This respones, to my entry, actually has me in tears. Not in a bad way. I just find it very amazing that I have people like you...reading me. Supporting me. Being there, for me. It is amazing. I thank you, so very much.

Your lack of attention to details for your cruise is amazing...

I am holding off deliberately. I want to have my mom be the first one to get the most out of it. Don't worry. There will be an entry, after we return, where I spend a great deal of time detailing EVERYTHING!

"Holding off"??? I would enjoy it if you were in charge of the logistics of one of our activities. You seem to think of everything! :)

I originally booked thi8s cruise in March, of this year. Since then, I have spent time preparing for it. My mother has been amazing...Especially this past year, as I have been going thorugh recovery. So, I have devoted quite a bit of time, to making sure that this year, her Birthday is absolutely WONDERFUL. I will be getting her a new digital camera, so she can take pictures. There will bew wine, a memory box, flowers, a massage, a salon appointment, a decorated room. Etc. I will, as I said, go into full detail, once we get back. I just think that she should get the full effect, FIRST.

I think that inknbeans and bizzyboppers are correct - you are entitled to your life as you wish to live it and the opinions of others are just that - their opinions. Also, we make the effort to come here, read what you have written (and cry or laugh with you NOT at you) and try to offer our best wishes and support to you and each other.

We all feel the pain of verbal jabs, lack of support and the soothing nature of yarn - but by persisting, we all can enjoy what we are doing and ignore those who are negative.

Hugs, happy stitching and 'la la la la' to all those who put you down.

I would really like to Thank You, as I tend to do, quite a bit. It is very nice to get support here...especially after the events of last nice. Your support, and continued reading of this blog, mean the world to me. The support of my readers, I have come to find, is the ONLY support I have. It is nice to know it is out there.

I am sorry to hear that you have been made to feel so... betrayed in this manner, but you can bet all your readers support you! This is the internet after all, we could be at any one of a thousand other blogs if we didn't have faith in you, but we do! Or if we thought you couldn't make, but we all wish you the best in crossing your finish line in complete and utter victory!

Personally, how could I not hope the best and delight at your successes when it's YOU who has inspired me to enjoy this wonderful craft? I doubt I would have given crocheting or knitting much more of a thought than "eh, it's OK", if it wasn't for your wonderful project, and your blog which lets me join you, day after day. Some days I feel sad for what happens, but I always hope the next day will be better, and I am happy to hear when it is!

Cideon,
I really am so thankful, that I have found readers, like you. People who read me, day in and day out. People who believe in me. People who want to see me finish this project.
I am glad I have inspired you to look at the crafts of yarn, in a new way. I am happy to have done that, even if only in a small part, for you.
