Outside, Anita sits on a rock, her knees drawn up to her chest, a sweater wrapped around her shoulders over the long-sleeved shirt she's wearing. It was getting chilly in St. Louis too. Winter was coming, and Anita doubts the holiday seasons looming on the horizon were going to be very joyous.

Not when pack, pard, and kiss were all being pulled in various directions because of her inaction due to her initial action.

Damian's words roll through her mind over and over.

She loves them all, and they love her.

And, it seems, they love each other in various ways. Some of those ways happen to be physical. Anita shies away from even thinking about the physical. She doesn't want to picture any of them doing anything with one another just yet.

But she loves them, they love her. If she loves them, why can't she let go of the leashes and let them be who they are. Love her and love others? Other than her absolute fear of being rejected and left out in the cold while they all found contentment with each other, she doesn't know.

Maybe that fear was the root of it all, but she has no idea how to fix it.

Anita groans, closing her eyes and rubbing her hands over her chilled face.

It was never going to get any better.
