fanfic: star trek xi

title: an indian summer
pairings/characters: spock/uhura, kirk, implied mccoy/uhura
rating: pg-13 for suggestivness and kirk's potty mouth
summary: they say if you love something, you should set it free.
a/n: this is basically my take on what might've happened if spock prime didn't intervene and tell spock to follow his heart.

Nyota’s eyes are still dripping with tears, as she fully comprehends what must happen next. There is no other option. Neither of them are free to love each other anymore. That time has long past. )

pairing: spock/uhura, fanfic: star trek xi

Thanks so much! I'm really not sure where I would take them if this continued. I mean, it's implied that she stays with him for the night but the consequences are too complicated for me to touch.

I really want to hate this, Spock and Nyota apart because he's stupid and she didn't say anything. I really want to hate it because it made me sad and pulled at my heart and because they are still so obviously in love.

Very well written. Makes us appreciate more what did happen.

Thank you! Sorry to depress you, but this idea was floating in my head and I had to let it out.

So heartbreaking, but so good! I love what-if fics like this.

Thanks! As glad as I am with how the real version happened, this idea just wouldn't leave alone cause it seemed like such a close call.

This was wonderfully executed, it felt true to life. Sadly, I think that was probably their last farewell, Indian Summer being a heat late on in the year.

Thank you! And yes, that was definitely one of the meanings for the title. Also, I feel like an indian summer (a period of warm weather in the winter) is a fitting metaphor for Spock himself cause he's actually a warm and passionate person inside his cold logic.
