City of Heroes: Architect

I played "City of Villains" for about 10 minutes one day (while i spend probably 10 glorious hours in the character creation screen)...

There was a lot about it I liked, and enough that I didn't that I never really got into it... (combined with me being pretty solidly engrossed in WoW at the time)

if you aren't going to pay for really great writers... at least let the players do the job...

...or you could really join the MMO fringe and join FFXI. Of my friends who I've converted from WoW to FFXI, they all remark on how amazing the story is and how you can actually cajole people into doing quests/missions/etc specifically for the new chapters of the story they unlock. It's content like that- and chocobos- that keeps me coming back for more.

As for AoC: I believe your lack-of-booby disinterest coupled with Yahtzee Croshaw's booby-related review sum up my reasons for never playing the game in the first place

So, I *AM* geeky enough to already have an Escapist account, but I had never before heard of Yahtzee Croshaw. TY for sharing that link, Mr. Johnny, he is BRILLIANT!

Also, I have never played any FF game before... and am not sure my schedule (AKA - many hours spent in front of my PC) could handle much more than LoTRO, but if/when FFXI does a free trail... let me know. :-)

Oh, there's a 30-day free trial with each registration. And in those 30 days you might be able to hit level 5 and earn about 2,000 gil heh. If it wasn't for the fact that my boss at work had been playing for 4 years before I started and had an array of well-connected higher-level players, I never would have made it out of my home city heh.

As for Yahtzee... I'm glad that you enjoyed it! Now sit back and watch your productivity fly out the window as you play catch up :) I don't have an account (you beat me there) which is shameful as my friend nickavitch turned me onto Zero Punctuation sometime last year and I've been in love with it ever since. So in love, in fact, that i just ordered "Pants on head retarded" in manically-yellow t-shirt form!

I left CoH a long time ago. I have friends whom still play occasionally. Its nice to see they still do updates. This Archetech part is a great idea.

But at this time I am holding out for the next gen Superhero game. Either DC Online or Champions. I am leaning towards Champions.

AoC wouldn't play on my 5 year old pc but I heard great things about it. Actually no. I heard 1 great thing about it. "Fountains of blood"
