Acclimatising myself to this City is quite the challenge. Almost as much as attempting to become accustomed to Earth, having spent so much of my life on Tarnax VII, was. At least there, when people acted irrationally, they were doing so through something of their own agency. Generally speaking, of course ( Read more... )

Honey, don't say the word annihilation. We just got Rictor to calm down about Skrulls being here. He might go crazy again.

Any synonym would yield the same results. I am simply stating my belief that they are not as terrible as they have been made out to be.

Who is Rictor?

Rictor is some guy from our world, but we never met him until we got here. Last time you were here, he went on and on about Skrulls being evil and I had to tell everybody that you weren't trying to take over the world like the rest of them.

I see. Well, if he has already ranted about it once, then I am certain he has got it out of his system by now, and therefore I have little to worry about. Besides, I did not express any negativity towards humans, and pointed out than Skrulls arriving en masse would, in fact, be a bad thing.

I heard you were back. What's up, Xavin?

Also, you might want to start calling him Teddy.

I had heard that I was back, also. Who is this?

And you are the third person to inform me of this. I shall take your advice into consideration.

Kate Bishop. Young Avengers? The girl with the bow and arrow?

Yeah, do that because he really doesn't like to be called Dorrek.

Ah. Yes, I remember you. Hello. Are any other members of your team here?

Dorrek is a good name. There is little reason for him to oppose it.

Teddy is fine. That was a curse, I don't actually want the title. What's up?

There is nothing in particular. I will not lecture you about your duties, because I know you do not wish to hear anything more about being the Great Unifier, and so on. Rather, I thought it wise to say hello, now that you are no longer cursed.

However, the way you were acting when I first arrived was magnificent. It is almost a shame that the curse did not hold.

Thank you. For saying hello. I'm glad you're here, Karolina missed you and I know how that feels.

I was acting that way because I had been raised Prince Dorrek, Xavin. My mother, my real mother, was alive, and my father was alive, and I was going to be King some day. Now... it's a lot more complicated.

But the last time you were here, I decided that if any Skrulls come here I'll do my best to take care of them. They are my people.

Of course. I am glad to be here, by her side, as well.

It was very strange. You were under the impression that I was your bodyguard, and did not know who Karolina was. Regardless, I thought for once I ought greet you, without the impending threat of imprisonment or invasion.

That is excellent to hear.

Well I'm glad you realize we're not a threat.

I was speaking of humans in general, not of any individuals in particular.

I am certain that there are many who could be considered as such.

We could be a threat. After all, we've beat back the Skrull and Kree Empires several times, staved off Galactus, and protected ourselves against all kinds of invaders. But we choose to work on our own world rather than pursue any expansionist policies.

You could be a threat, yes, but it seems likely that you yourselves would simply become like the Skrull and Kree Empires you are so proud of having staved off. While there is much work to be done in order to improve your world, I can at least respect anyone who so much as makes an honest attempt to do so.

I am getting way used to this drill. Hi. I'm Rictor. I know stuff.

I do not.

Hello, Rictor. I have been told much about you.
