Sora hadn't been here in a long while. It wasn't the sort of place you went to unless you had a good reason, and those reasons were few and far between. You didn't just mess around with the heart of a world for fun, and that was doubly true for this heart. The only exceptions were certain times, when all was not well. Times like this ( ... )

Fractured lines increased, varying in size. The continued to branch out over the glass, each point leaving heavy damage in its wake. A faster finish was possible, but not the option he chose for the job. It was...satisfying about seeing it come apart gradually.

But one thing was for sure: nothing was to be spared.

That came to abrupt halt when the something large cut through the air, flying directly into its intended target. All at once the closest tendrils of black and violet shattered, dark pieces flaking, falling from the arm that was hit.

Keyblade.

His grimace turned into a darkened smile.

"There you are."

The tangled network of misshapen patterns still lay over the Heart as Xemnas turned away from it. His attention fell upon the boy, violet eyes striking as they settled upon him.

"I was beginning to wonder where you had gone."

Sora caught the Keyblade as it came back in a smooth, practiced motion. Thankfully, that didn't take up the bulk of his attention, because something else was. The most important thing for Sora to do right now was keep an eye on Xemnas. Absolutely, critically important.

He really shouldn't have come here alone. But, seeing the damage already done to the Heart, that was better than not coming at all.

A little bit of his certainty about what he was getting into vanished when the eyes that met his own glowed violet, not gold. That was just like...!

Could it really be what he was thinking of? Sora wasn't sure, but it seemed too similar to be a coincidence. But how was it possible? Why would Xemnas, of all people, want power from Isis? His mind filled with questions, but he couldn't think of any answers. Right now, he didn't really have time to, and he was fully aware of that ( ... )
