"You came here on your own free will.
"But I desire to know...why?"
The Heart of Nautilus.
Out of all the existing areas to travel through, he kept returning to this one in particular.
"For one such as yourself, there must be an reason for all of this."
Gold eyes met with those of translucent violet, direct, unwavering.
"We shared a common goal once," he replied evenly. "Our views were different upon how it was to be approached."
The glassy tones of her voice echoed within the nothingness, forming a shadow of a demure smile. The sound swirled into a brief silence, floating in the air as they chimed delicately.
"Methods will always be different, Superior."
It was there, encased in a shell of glass.
The heart of a city. An Aeon.
One that was in Pain.
"You are willing to watch a city crumble into oblivion without qualm. Quite fitting for someone who claims he has no heart."
Darkness hung in the air, high above the cityscape.
Closer.
Its hunger needed to be satiated.
"A Nobody will remain a Nobody. No heart, no feelings - no attachment to the anything or anyone. I know where I stand. And now I am following through with all that has been done."
"But what will you choose to do now? You have traveled down this path. You have gone this far. You cannot take back what you do."
"I know what I am doing."
"Then what of your allies? Your so-called friends?"
A gloved hand graced the surface of the glass.
Its face was dark, dulled in the shadow of the Dark Aeon. But it was nearly flawless with its man-made features.
All of it done by the Bending of the Wakened.
"I have none."
The Wakened who answered Nautilus' call.
Those who decided to protect the city.
Those who wanted to do what was right.
"You hesitated."
Dull gold shifted to the vibrant shade of violet once more.
The glass under his hand sunk in several inches. Sharp black and violet patterns rippled over the surface as it gave way to the pressure, cracking violently. Although still in one piece, numerous fractures appeared, running rampant in every direction.
With his power, he could do what he wanted.
No heart. No city. All would be done with.
Everything would end.
