If asked what she is doing in the Southern District at this point in time, Wendy wouldn't say. It certainly is not to check in on Thomas, if that's what anyone thinks. No, this walk is purely for the sake of walking, and not at all for peeking into windows to make sure silly boys were still alive. That's reason enough for her silence while walking.

Looking at the ground, Wendy notices the 'nest' first. Really, it just looks like someone has been trimming the trees and haven't cleared away the debris yet. She almost passes it by without a thought, and probably would have continued on not towards Budehuc if she hadn't heard the snap of a tree branch, or the hurried motions of someone hard at work. But there's no one around, unless they're hiding in the...trees. Oh.

Wendy watches Anomie carefully, before anything else. She's fairly certain she could escape easily if the idea of corpses comes up, as long as she didn't get too far into the trees and what suddenly looks suspiciously like a spider's web of flowers. They are very ( ... )

Anomie can be aware of her surroundings, when she is not distracted with playing, but with all the flowers and the delicate task of hanging them without breaking them, and with Wendy moving so quietly, Anomie didn’t notice the other girl until she speaks.

“Hello!” Anomie calls out cheerfully when she sees Wendy, waving enthusiastically from her tree branch. “Hello Maybe-Princess-Good-Girl-Wendy!”

Setting her flower bundle on the main branch, Anomie swings backward to hang upside down, her legs hooked between two branches, to get a better look, her dreadlocks hanging down and dangling.

Oh, wait there was a question. How long?

“I don’t remember,” No one’s explained time to the boggle-girl very well, and even if they did she would be really bad at keeping track of it, “Today?”

Wendy is hardly phased by Anomie's need to hang upside down from the branches, and will remain unphased so long as the girl's skirts don't start losing their ability to defy gravity. If that happens, Anomie will be getting a very long lecture on proper behavior. On a side note, it does look fun, and it's been such a long time since she's climbed a tree.

An honest answer to the question, no tricks about it. At least Anomie didn't go about hiding things like grown-ups did. "You must have been here quite a while--there are so very many flowers! It's beautiful!"

Don’t worry Wendy, the skirts are well caught up about her legs and aren’t going to fall down any time soon.

Anomie is always honest. Unless she is playing a boggle-trick, but really, she’s not very good at that. Her grins always give her away. She’s smiling now, but that’s because she is happy.

“I like flowers! Do you like flowers?”

Ginko had been taking one of his many, many meandering walks around the city. He never had any particular destination in mind but was always careful and mindful of his surroundings. He was still trying to catalogue the various different types of plant life that existed in Nautilus. One had to 'know what was normal to know what was not normal ( ... )

“Hello!” Anomie calls back, distracted from her playing with the flowers.

“Oh!” She looks at the boggles first with surprise, then wariness, then interest and something akin to delight, “The boggles like you!”

Setting her bundle of flowers aside, Anomie swings down from the tree, her boots thumping on the soft ground as she lands. Tilting her head at Ginko, Anomie asks, “Why do the boggles like you?”

He watched Anomie swing from the tree, landing with ease. She was graceful about it, for someone who looked like they were in their 20s. It wasn't so surprising, considering that Anomie seemed to spend a lot of time outdoors. She also resembled a child far more than an adult, both in personality and antics.

"Don't know," he lied.

Time to change the subject. "You're decorating the forest?"

Climbing trees isn’t much different from climbing buildings. It might actually be easier, with branches to help move up and down. In The City, Anomie rarely used the streets, because she was boggle-like and it is easier to get around without being seen. But there aren’t trees in the bog-lands. Not really.

“Oh. Okay.” She accepts the lie easily. Why would anyone lie about whether boggles like them?

“Yes!” She nods enthusiastically and grins broadly, looking around at her handy-work.

“I like flowers! They’re pretty! Do you like flowers?”

Fanzone is out trying to familiarize himself with the city. A few weeks ago, Ratchet drove him around some, took him to the highlights of each of the- . . . well, of three of the city's districts, but he learns places best by walking the beat himself.

And so it is he finds himself in the South, walking among the trees. Ratchet mentioned a dojo out here that Prowl had once occupied. Though he'll never admit it aloud (except maybe to a select few), the senior cop misses the ninja robot, having been there when the guy had given his life to save Fanzone's city and everyone in it. Prowl had been a good guy. A really good guy. For a robot. And so now, part of him is looking for that dojo ( ... )

The scavengers in the bog-lands would consider Anomie some kind of homicide in progress; certainly she has killed before, although never successfully in Nautilus. The people who know her better would consider her a child at play, but then, she’s probably never tried to kill most of them. Anomie has been a little bit of both, sometimes at the same time.

But today the bog-woman has ‘child at play’ written all over, with flowers thrown in for good measure. And she is far too engrossed in her game to pay attention to any one wandering around below her, police officer or not.

Fanzone relaxes his guard once he sees the source of the commotion. With the barest of grins tugging at one corner of his mouth, he steps out into the clear, arms folded as he peers up at the woman and her handiwork.

"That's quite an impressive display of decorations you've got going there, ma'am."

"Oh! Hello!" Anomie calls down to the person below her, from her branch and bundle of flowers. Peering down, she looks with curiosity at the strange (to her) man, and ends up knocking her flower chin off the branch. She swings down after it.

Landing with a thumping of boots, she stands and tilts her head at Fanzone. The tall, skinny, and really, REALLY messy woman circles him with blantant curiosity. "What's a ma'am?"
