Huntsville in the Spring

Yesterday Andy and I went on a long walk around Five Points and downtown to hang fliers for Record Store Day. It was such a nice walk, and the city looked beautiful with all of Spring in the air! It felt nice taking a break of photographing subjects who knew they were being shot, and focusing on the unsuspecting flowers and houses throughout

I'm loving these picture posts! We've been driving around and I wish I knew the names of half the trees that have the flowers that I've been adoring looking at here in Huntsville. There's a tree in bloom around with these gorgeous bright pink flowers that captures my attention and even though pink usually isn't my favorite color, I am captivated every time I see it. I want one so bad even though I have no idea what it is! lol As soon as we tame our swamp land up here in Hazel Green I swear I'm going to plant a dozen of them... Thank you for your pictures. One day we're going to get downtown and figure out where your record store is and I'm going to find out if you have any of the Billy Joel records I'm missing from my collection. (o:

i wonder what the tree is! i know dogwoods are bright pink, or maybe peonies? i'm so curious! i'm the same way though...like purple isn't really a favorite color, but i LOVE purple flowers :)

i know! i actually had never noticed it until we did a photo session at east clinton, which is right across the street...and now it's one of my favs :)

so far, the house is still standing. i saw the owner the other day mowing the lawn, but i'm not sure what his actual plans are yet. i'm watching the papers to see if the house comes up for a vote to demo or restore...so we'll see. crossing my fingers for the restoration as well :)
