That's right, Season 1 not only the oldest & shortest but also my least favorite season. It just doesn't work the same way the rest of the series does. It consists mostly of one-shot episodes with poor constructed plot and bad special effects. But! I decided to name

When my roommate introduced me to Buffy I liked it but thought it was super cheesy and did not understand why it had such a huge following because season 1 was just so wow.

But I continued watching and I am so happy I did because it's one of my biggest obsessions now

True story. It saddens me, though, 'cause I know people who just decided after few Season 1 episodes that the show's not worth watching. *sigh*

if I started watching this show on tv with the rest of the world I might not have continued. But I watched it after all seven seasons aired so I figured it had to get better!

I actually prefer Nightmares over Restless... but then again, I'm strange and I do like the first season XD

I'm up for anything with a dreamy premise, so I naturally appreciate Nightmares, but I could live without the coma boy storyline.

I agree that the coma boy storyline wasn't the best, but I do like all the consequences. Nightmares has some of the most touching scenes of the series, like Giles standing over Buffy's grave, feeling responsible for her death.

Agreed. Also, the great thing about Nightmares is that nearly all main character's dreams come true in one form or another.

Yeah, I find S1 to be overall my least favorite as well, even though I really quite enjoy most of the episodes on their own. I like the wacky, campy fun of it, though.

It does have a certain charm. Also, it's Buffy, I don't skip over anything when I do my re-watching. I'm that kind of fan, heh.

Hee, it's kinda cool to see a Bad Eggs fan. I love this about fandom, every single character/episode/aspect gets love somewhere.

Oh, first season. It's true that the scoobies are ridiculously adorable back then. Plus, Prophecy Girl is one of my very favorite episodes.

Yeah, Prophecy Girl is truly wonderful. It's a first episode with a definite Buffy-esque feel.
