I've talked about Buffy invading Czech television. It starts tomorrow. I think I'll watch it regularly, just to see how much they'll screw up. After today's experience I kinda lost all my hope in Czech TV translation. While ironing, I tuned in to watch the last episode of Angel (don't ask me why they broadcast Angel first.) And just from what I remember from watching the episode before, I had several WTF moments concerning the translation. I'll show you. The original text is blue, my translation of the Czech translation (heh) is red, but you'll probably be able to tell which is which anyway. *smirk*
ANGEL
If the next words out of your mouth are "Kill Spike", we just might have to kiss.
And:
ANGEL
If you tell me to kill Spike, you just might say goodbye to that suggestion.
I guess they just really want Angel and Spike to get along. *g*
LORNE
Straight to his buddy Angel. I'm telling you, our fearless leader has fearlessly lost it. There's no part of this that makes any sense. We could be next.
GUNN
I don't think we're being monitored here.

Yeah, sometimes the final dialogues simply don't make any sense.

I don't remember the exact words, but they killed the joke! They killed the slashy joke! Bastards....

Oh, and "the first lesson a watcher learns" became "the first lesson a guard learns." I hope they drop the shit with Buffy.

Thanks to Buffy there'll be nothing left of vampires but dust and ashes
It's silly. If it's any consolation, most of the channel's trailers are silly.

How am I supposed to trust these guys that they won't ruin my Buffy? *sobs*
