Cutting to the action~ azuranthine January 20 2011, 07:55:54 UTC
By the time they had finished getting all the visitors out of the building and broken every single mirror in the building, Lillian was almost drained, annoyed with herself for not thinking to doublecheck to make sure everyone had everyone else's phone numbers, and frustrated almost to the point of tears with the situation they were in. No matter how long her fuse was normally, after over forty-five minutes of trying to subtly coax their ragtag group into coordinating their efforts and non-stop phone tag to the point her phone battery had died, it was significantly shorter now. Not that it showed much on the surface, even if her smiles gradually felt more and more forced as time went on ( ... )

Lillian smiled at Rolf, grateful for the help, then simply stepped away, turning her attention back to the demon. She still hurt. She felt so drained that she knew that if she survived this, the first she was going to do was crash on her bed back at the dorms ( ... )

For the second time that night, Anthony had successfullly shocked Ezra into silence. He had finally joined the fight, called out in that weird language, but then... Oh. Oh hell.

He'd hoped for a moment that Xochi had been reading it wrong, a thought that didn't get past his persona who had answered with an indignant squawk. When it comes to Anthony, I'll never doubt you again. "Okay, you're not allowed to use that again unless you're aiming at us ( ... )

"I'm glad that it wor-...!" Lester's words caught in his throat as the thing moved to attack Ezra. The thing was doing better than it was and this just wasn't good. Djinn sparked angrily above him. He felt he had to do something. But all he and Djinn knew how to do was lower its defenses temporarily and shoot off single bolts of lightning. Well, one was better than nothing.

He nodded at Djinn and the fairy (note made for a mental bashing later). "Let's do this~."

Another shot of zio collided with the thing in an attempt to knock it off balance.

It was precisely because Emi was her roommate that Ama could roll her eyes at her with a quip of "Lecture later, Emilinda!" Except really, if Emi hadn't said it, Amalia would have, but she didn't need to know that. Hopefully Anthony would know better than to heal the thing they were trying to take down ( ... )

Heather vaguely recognized the spell Anthony cast on the monster since it was similar to the one she had used on Lillian, but before she could say anything about it the damage was already done. But that didn't matter, right? Everyone was fighting so hard, surely it would go down soon.. Even if it was taking a while.

And she should do something too. As much as Heather was afraid of attacking because the monster might lash out at her, she felt too guilty for just sitting there and watching everyone fight, especially since even Lillian had gotten up to fight again.

Slowly the girl stood up and gave her Persona another pleading look, this time without words - they weren't needed, after all. Inugami let out a howl before flinging itself at the enemy to follow up Lester and Amalia's attacks, trying to scratch it with its poison claws.

Lester took a few steps back with his mouth open at the sight of the monster. Oh. Well. He wasn't sure he liked the idea of an armed spider. A big one. Carla would really hate it. He took a few more steps back and stepped in a bit of water that had come off from Lilly's attack. Water...Djinn sparked violently above his head.

...Water. Sparks...Electricity.

"Lilly," he announced, moving to stand by her. "Do you think...do water and electricity work together?"

Djinn sparked some more and whirred around the two of them once.

He kept an eye on the monster, wondering if it was going to start moving faster now that it was on eight legs. He could make it less resistant to attacks but he didn't think he could make it slower. Or make those big hammers and blades hurt less.

((OOC: OH GODS. GUYS. I'm sorry. I totally mixed up Tarunda and Rakunda. Lester's been using Rakunda ;A; I'm sorryyyyy pretend he's been saying Rakunda orz orz orz I'm changing his stuff around in his profile and the wiki so that it all says he has Rakunda now orz orz

It took Lillian a moment to realize that Lester was talking to her, she was still so focused on the foe in front of them. When she did, she turned toward him. Water and electricity mixed very well if you were looking for a good conductor. Some kind of assist might work well.

"They do but anyone standing in water could get shocked, too," she said, sounding a litte worried. She hated to discourage Lester in anything, especially when they needed to work together so much. That thought resulted in a sudden mental nudge from Nephele.

By water, fire, and earth, stone will rise by our command, Nephele murmured then fell silent ( ... )

While it looked like they were slowly succeeding in damaging the monster, there were plenty of things to worry about. The main issue was the police in the building. This was taking way too long to deal with. They needed it out now. The best approach seemed to be just to continue doing what they were doing. It would be down for the count eventually. However, then one of the others called out their idea.

Emi raised an eyebrow at Lillian as if she were crazy. Okay, sure, whatever. She'd play along. Summoning her persona once more, she sent the bear to use its Magna spell to coincide with Nephele's water.

It wasn't exactly in Rolf's nature to judge, but by god, that spider thing was ugly. He almost had to look away because really, a melted face planted on a spider's body wasn't something he had been expecting.

Rolf felt a strange tug, and he realized it was Baldur who gave him a wink and thumbs up. Right. It might be ugly but it wasn't something to be terrified of, especially with all of them here. Bolstered by this thought and Lillian's rallying cry, he planted his feet down and shouted, "Agi!"

Baldur reared up to his full height, flung out his cape, and snapped his fingers. The instant the burst of flame touched Nephele's water and Otso's rocks, the energy from these three elements seemed to condense together before finally exploding, a sharp boulder with a wicked point shooting from the floor and into the spider's gut.

The stalagmite ripped into it from below, impaling it as it was lifted off its feet. Its legs twitched in the air uncontrollably. The spike pierced its torso vertically, tearing upward through its right shoulder with inches to spare. A small puff of glistening white powder escaped the exit wound, covering the stone tip with film. Then the stalagmite retracted back into the floor and vanished ( ... )

Well, that was interesting.

Amalia watched the combo curiously, but swiftly switched her attention back to the monster. The thing was as good as beat, but she wanted to get a hit in. She was tired and sore, the police would be approaching, and this thing had hurt her... friends? Group? Team.

It was time to end this.

"You talk too much," she snapped. "Even if we opened that door, we can take anything you throw at us until we can slam it shut again! Now shut up already, you yap more than my dog! Guys, do I get a combo this time?"

Huitzil's answering gust ruffled her bangs, the wind picking up around her and sending some of those priceless artifacts clinking into the air. Lillian had made a point that combined attacks did more damage, so she'd just have to hope everyone else had caught on to that as the wind surged forward to finally silence the fallen creature.

Ezra had been carefully avoiding looking at the monster's face while he scanned, all the while ignoring Xochipilli's gleeful comments about it. It hadn't been difficult, with all the shouting and elements flying through the air, and he'd watched the resulting impalement with wide eyes. Very interesting. They'd have time to figure out the hows and whys later, but for now they had an ace up their sleeve, when they needed it.

The melted face was a lot harder to ignore now that it was cursing them with that booming voice and hacking up god knows what. He'd seen more than enough through his persona's eyes to stew over for a few days, though, so when Ama called out, he stepped forward eagerly. "Coming right up." At Ezra's firm nod, Xochipilli sent a burst of flame to join in the rapidly building elemental force hurtling towards the monster.

Part of Lillian wanted to protest. It was no longer a threat. It could barely move and talk was just talk. They were wasting time. But even so, if this was what it took to make sure the threat was completely eliminated and get everyone back on track before the police arrested them, so be it. Lillian sighed and there was another rumble overheard followed by loud hiss of water as Nephele blasted the creature.

As they had before, the elemental forces converged and transformed, this time into a large, howling whirlwind that relentlessly shredded their foe. More or that stinky powder was coming out of it, making it hard to see exactly what was going on in the twister's eye. It didn't matter, anyway. It was finished now and Lillian had absolutely no desire to keep standing there watching. She ached, she was exhausted, and she wanted to go home.

"We have to go now," she announced in a tired monotone and started stumbling toward the nearest elevator or stairwell. Whichever got her out of there fastest without being seen.

Lester wasn't entirely certain how they got out of the museum after the mirror creature went boom. Someone may have been able to tell the story of their escape, but he definitely wasn't that someone. He just remembered lots of running and chaos and some kind of sneaking. And people looking like they were going to fall over. That was fun.

"Well~, at least it's gone now?" he wondered aloud, referring to the mirror creature. "Thaaank you fairies."

Djinn knocked him one upside the head. From the inside of his head. However that worked.
