So this piece totally got away from me, but here we are! Just under the wire. :) Much thanks to n3m3sis43, because without her I probably would've been stuck on the last section 5ever with no real direction. She's the real MVP. <3“So where are you from ( Read more... )

This was very well done. The two of you should compete in Idol as one.... Mwha, hugs and loves. <3

Thanks, Mom. :) She just helped me figure out why I was stuck on the third section -- I don't know what us legit writing a piece together would look like. But it'd certainly be interesting. :)

Thanks. :) I wanted the ending to be juuust right and I'm glad that it seems to be working for people the way it did for me. :D

“No I mean -- where are you from? Which country?”
It bugs the hell out of me when people do this, even though I know I've been guilty of it too.
I like the characterisation a lot, they feel very real.

It bugs me, too, when people do it, and I know I've been guilty of it, too. I watch it happen a lot at work with the girls I work with -- one in particular. She always handles it with such aplomb.

Thank you. :) Savin and Mari have been around for a long time and this was a nice way to ease back into their dynamic. (I love Mari and she doesn't get enough screen time in the official work, sigh).

I really enjoyed this! You slip into your characters so easily and portray their emotions well. I feel both happy and sad for them here, even without knowing how things really are between them.

Thank you! :D

Savin and Mari's friendship isn't one I get to explore all that often -- they've been close since the moment they met. I'm kinda glad that the reader doesn't really know how things are -- Savin thinks they're 100% okay now, but I think Mari has some things to work through, herself. But they love one another a whole lot and will always be there when the other needs them. :)

I can well imagine this will still be a problem in the future, unfortunately.

Could always go with me and find out ;)
I'm sorry things didn't work out between them permanently (though I know this 'verse enough to know they wouldn't). That was a very good sign, right there. :)

Probably will be. ;) Poor Savin bb. In the last section he's talking about a certain member of the Emperor's Council...

Yeah, I kinda love Savin and Mari's dynamic a lot and it doesn't matter how hard I try, they don't ever end up together permanently -- Jazz has to come along and ruin that prospect ;). But they're great friends and I love that they remained friends after the fact. A lot.
