It's still way less stressful than my last job, tbh. I lovelovelove running the drive thru (even when it's like what I described above). I loved it more when we didn't have the cut out in the wall (it used to be completely cut off from the teller line up front), but I still love the illusion of having privacy and the fact that I can start three transactions within the same minute because it's faster and more efficient, damnit. xD

Thanks! This isn't exactly what I wanted to write buuut my long weekend inspired it. xD

It can be tiring, yeah, but some days are worse than others. I'm just trying to gear myself up for Christmas season (a busy time for banks, too, as I found out last year), which is basically the above all day every day for like, five weeks (help).

Thanks. <3

Whew! What a day! It made me tired just reading this! Dealing with people is exhausting!

It's not like this alllll the time, thankfully. Just a good deal of it, lol. My entire adult life all I've done is dealt with people and I'm not sure how much longer I can handle it. xD We'll see, I guess.

Oh my goodness, that sounds so stressful! I don't think I could do it. Handling all that money. Sounds like you're really good at it, though!

It's stressful but I've kind of grown used to it by now. And the fact that when I have down periods, I don't have to corral other tellers (as much), like when I had to run shift at Wawa?

Yeah this is an improvement, still. The money is the easy part. I love handling it. I feel comfortable with a 20k box. When it climbs up to 30-40 (and it's done that, on rare occasion -- that doesn't happen all that often, thankfully), I start to get nervous. My branch's been robbed before (within the past few months, even). We're only supposed to have 2k in our boxes (5k in the drive thru, because we have a dispenser and not a recycler, so we can't put money in that machine, it only gives out money) for safety purposes.

I almost never, ever, EVER, stay below 2k. I have less differences when I'm working out of my box entirely. Probably because I'm more mindful of what I'm counting. I loooove getting large cash deposits, but only when they're not going to hold up my line. xD

If I could just count money and not deal with people, that'd be ideal. xD

hahaha... yeah, dealing with people can be rough, for sure. I think it's the fear of robbery knowing there's that much money around that would make it hard for me. Were you there when the most recent one occurred?

I was the only teller off that day, literally. I got a message from Dante going, "So don't be alarmed. But we got robbed, today. It was me that they robbed." and I just about died. It was a note-passer, and he was a straight robbery deal, tbh. Passed the note to Dante, Dante handed him our step-back money/dye pack, handed it to him with no fuss and stepped back from his station, like he was supposed to.

However, when I worked at Wawa, I was involved in a robbery that happened at gunpoint. Apparently having a gun pointed in my face makes me angry.

I like being called by name at the bank where I am greeted by name when I walk in. Do not like it if they read my name off my check, however.

If it weren't literally something I get scored on in a secret shopper situation (and yes, TD Bank has those, they're called "How to Wow!!" shops), I would never, ever read someone's name off a check/their deposit slip/their debit card/their ID. I find it kind of creepy, personally.

But alas, I am scored on it and it is a part of my job to call a customer by their name. It sucks, and I'm not a huge fan of it, but hey. I'm not a fan of selling products and services, either, but I'm gonna do it if I think the person in front of me is a shop/there's a credit card offer involved (only need 4 approved credit card apps to hit goal...).

In short: I hate the customer interaction piece, I love the money piece, can I please find a job where all I have to do is handcount stacks of cash all day pls and thank you.
