I would define "fag hag" as a girl who is really good friends with a gay guy, to the point where you'd assume that they were dating if he wasn't gay.

The first image that comes to mind is of a young (maybe 16-25), very stereotypical, conventionally attractive girl who shares many of the interests of her very stereotypical gay male friend (shopping, clubbing, etc.).

And yeah, as for reason for being a fag hag, they're either just really good friends (and probably both single) or she's secretly in love with him.

yea...fag hags are usually girls, any age, as long as she got her gay with her...should be straight
