Welcome to the new(ly official) mod! =D

Re: the activity thing, I think you're right that it's definitely an issue. The trouble seems most that people are not consistently tagging back and that a lot of threads get dropped or only continued belatedly. I don't think it's about lack of things to do, since even during this last event when there was a very specific task to accomplish, a bunch of the posts made had only a dozen or so comments on them, and even fewer looked like they ran their course so that characters actually accomplished the task at hand. It's hard to get the challenge done if you want to actually RP doing it and then people don't tag stuff back ( ... )

That makes sense. I was thinking it could partially be due to school starting for many of the players, so the activity could have died out sometime around that. As for the events, it will take a more serious turn soon enough. That's mostly my fault since Toto is my charge and he's not the most serious of them, so re-evaluating the future events would probably take priority once I'm out of this hiatus. The new mascots will be introduced soon enough, it was just worry on our part that it might overwhelm the players if we kept making them show up each month.

I can see what you mean about it coming off as a crack game though, so I apologize for that.

I'm somewhat less inclined to think school only because it seems to have been going on for a couple weeks and schools (admittedly privileging the US and UK in this statement) are only getting started this week, by and large.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too too much about overwhelming players with new mascots since it's not like adding them right now would be piling onto a bustle of other things going on, though I do see your concern there. But even if we just get one more mascot to counterbalance I do think it would help.

Also, should be said that I really really do like this game, and the premise still totally tickles me. And far be it from me to complain about any event that results in Kanda being subjected to a DO NOT WANT!-kiss from Allen Walker and all the fun character tensions that get to come out of it after. So I'm saying all of this on the level of little things that could be tweaked to improve, and not at all as a 'rawr grrr game is bad' sort of thing! <3

Jumping in here to apologise for my flakiness for tags lately asdhulsef. Midterms + more apping (a blasphemous combination, but I'll live) is currently eating me, so I haven't been around as much as I'd like.

Welcome new mod-!

My activity the past couple of days has been bad and I blame it wholly on the amatomnes=title=Amatomnes. YEAH HERE IS MY EXCUSE EAT IT.

I think a problem with activity is that the community, for the most part, doesn't move? I consider a community dead when I make a post.. and my post stays on the top of community for a week. That happened. :\a A good way to fix that would be recruiting more people to join, I think. I know we post in RPS every week, but there are a ton of other places to advertise, and I think you guys should look into that. Also, going out and affiliating with other roleplays would also help, as well as trying to lure in people from other rps you're in. (I've been dropping subtle hints to my other RPs that they should join. I think, for the most part, though, they are all happy where they are...)

Sorry it took me forever to reply, finals week is killing me.

Affiliation might be the best way then. We've posted in other communities before, but at most we get a lot of reserves but a handful of applications. Those are options we'll look into, either way, since it might help a lot.

I don't really have much to (belatedly, how terribly apt orz ;;;) add that hasn't already been said by others, though I also want to extend a welcome to the newish mod :)

that aside, i think I am curious about how the mods decide which characters do and don't pass challenges. Is it decided by which players literally finish threads/logs describing each detail to get them to the end, those who seem like they were on the right track, took part at all or is it purely mods' choice case-by-case? Somewhat confused Ghost is somewhat confused, or did I miss an obvious explanation for this that already exists? XD;;;;

please excuse iPhone related typos ;;;

Mostly activity as well as seeing if the threads are in the right track or not. If there's absolutely no activity shown during the event, they drop a level. If there is activity and it's on the right track, then level up. Though, if we're not sure ourselves as to what the outcome of the post will be, we'll approach the players themselves to make sure.
