Re: the activity thing, I think you're right that it's definitely an issue. The trouble seems most that people are not consistently tagging back and that a lot of threads get dropped or only continued belatedly. I don't think it's about lack of things to do, since even during this last event when there was a very specific task to accomplish, a bunch of the posts made had only a dozen or so comments on them, and even fewer looked like they ran their course so that characters actually accomplished the task at hand. It's hard to get the challenge done if you want to actually RP doing it and then people don't tag stuff back.
It seems like there's a small group of players who are active at all and an even smaller group who are active consistently, which is a harder problem to solve than the lack of things to do--I've never felt that about this place at all. There's always something going on, which is good. It's just that people aren't taking enough advantage of the events, which isn't good.
One thing that I think might help--at least I know it would help for me--would be for some of the events/curses/etc. to be a bit less cracky and lulzy. Like with the event that just ended, all of the bad things that could happen would effectively just result in foolishness or humiliation. None of the traps had any actual risk involved. That can be fun once in a while, but it does get kind of old, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys making their character really struggle with danger/pain in order to achieve his goals.
(It also occurred to Allen-mun and I as were were talking about this that maybe each of the mascots are going to have their own style/stamp that they put on the challenges, and that maybe Toto's is more cracky. But if that's the case I would say we need to meet another mascot sooner rather than later so that we do get to have a mix and have more things happening on the srsbzns side.)
Gah, I'm rambling all over the place. But the long and the short of it is that the game didn't seem to be presented as a crack game in its premise and whatnot, but in some ways it feels like it's being run a bit as a crack game, and if people aren't getting what they expected then activity might be suffering because of it. Not saying to get rid of the crack, just saying to give some additional options that do involve some risk so that there's more chance of something for everyone. :)

I can see what you mean about it coming off as a crack game though, so I apologize for that.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too too much about overwhelming players with new mascots since it's not like adding them right now would be piling onto a bustle of other things going on, though I do see your concern there. But even if we just get one more mascot to counterbalance I do think it would help.
Also, should be said that I really really do like this game, and the premise still totally tickles me. And far be it from me to complain about any event that results in Kanda being subjected to a DO NOT WANT!-kiss from Allen Walker and all the fun character tensions that get to come out of it after. So I'm saying all of this on the level of little things that could be tweaked to improve, and not at all as a 'rawr grrr game is bad' sort of thing! <3
