"Fine. I'm trying this way."

Kanda comes around the corner, apparently speaking to someone over his shoulder and nearly walks right into Yosuke as he's getting up. He stops short, scowling down at him, his sword in his hand.

He looks a bit scuffed up, but nothing serious, and nothing that would immediately explain the incredibly annoyed expression on his face. Two of the beads on his bracelet are lit--one green, the other yellow--but apparently he's not finding any satisfaction in that either.

"Taking a rest?" he asks, though judging by his demeanor he's not very interested in the answer.

[OOC: orz How do you have no tags on this yet? /remedies forthwith]

Running into people isn't exactly Yosuke's idea of a pleasant way to meet, and nearly bumping into Kanda gave him a bit of a start. Being so alone for so long down in long, winding and empty hallways and thinking there was no chance in hell you'd get to see someone until the place let up wasn't conducive to making you very aware of your surroundings. (Besides, they usually had Rise or Teddie for that sort of thing. He was used to being lazy about it.)

He gave Kanda a quick once-over, noticing the beads on his arm. Damn.

"Something like that." This guy's attitude... Yosuke wasn't too sure he liked it that much. But if he had two beads already lit up, then, maybe...

NP! I'm totally down with the backtagging! kandescence September 3 2009, 16:41:08 UTC
Kanda wasn't the type to waste time on pleasantries, even under the best of circumstances. Unfortunately, he also wasn't the type to offer aid to those who were worse off than him. If someone was facing imminent death, he would step in to fight a foe for them, but besides that...

As far as he was concerned, the simple fact that he and this man were in the same hallway together was hardly reason to waste time on chit chat, team up, or even stick around.

He needed one more of these damn wolf-things to be through with this idiocy, and the sooner he could be, the better. Especially if there was even the slightest outside chance that anyone else was going to try throwing themselves into his arms and--ugh, he didn't even like to think about it.

He fixed the young man with an assessing glare in turn, and then, evidently not impressed, breathed an impatient little Tch as he moved to walk passed him down the hall. Perhaps in the back of his mind he realized that he was being rude (even for him), but recent events had put him off the idea ( ... )

Jeez, Yosuke frowned, not exactly liking the feeling of being totally snubbed. Seriously, did he have to completely brush him off like that? After a moment he looked over his shoulder, contemplating whether he should follow or just go about his own business. It was always better to stick with a team, but this guy... Why did the first person I see have to be a jerk?

Still, just because Kanda was being an ass didn't mean Yosuke had to be. Especially since this guy could obviously help him get more of his beads lit up.

"That's a dead end," he said, loudly enough to make sure that he could hear him even as he was moving away. "I just came from there, and there weren't any."
