When we were shopping for houses about a year and a half ago, I was pretty insistent that the home we purchased have a fireplace. We were going from a brand-new custom made for us home to an area where all the homes were about 80 years old or more. So if we couldn't have all the nicest, newest stuff, I at least wanted to have some old-world charm,
