Ben and I were at the park late the other night, as Stephen accidentally let him sleep until 3:30 p.m. (he's supposed to get up at 2 p.m. don't even get me started) and Stephen was at choir practice. Ben asked to walk Holly-doggie, so I hooked her up to her leash and brought her along. We were almost done with the park when I heard music coming ( Read more... )

music, fun, benjamin

Too cute. I love watching Rosemary experience new things too!

We used to have the marching band practice on our street when I lived in Winona ... except they used to practice at way-too-early-o'clock-in-the-morning. Or at least it seemed to early to me as a college student.

i admit, that thought crossed my mind, sort of. it was 7:30 p.m. if i lived in one of those houses along their route and this was last year when ben was going to bed around 7 p.m.? i would have had some choice words for them when they woke up my baby!!!!

There's a "to" in my comment that should have been a "too."

Oooh, typos like that drive me crazy. :/ (IprobablydoitmoreoftenthanIrealize.)

i made my husband guess what we did, knowing there was no way he'd get it. but he did come close with "watched a soccer game." that's another thing i'm sure ben would love, but i just don't think i'd be capable of keeping him OUT of the game. he'd want to go in there and play too :-)

Marching bands are awesome! First day of school or not - that band has been practicing for a while. Our son's band usually has two weeks of 'band camp' the first two weeks of August, though it was only one week this summer. After that, they practice every Monday night from 6-8pm. They practice on the football field or the practice field, though, and not in the street. Now that school has started, they get to practice every day in school, too.

i think the street part was what made it so cool. it was like watching a real parade moving along through the neighborhood. (ha ha, you said "band camp" ha ha ha ha!!!!)
