[014] [voice + action]

Those meteors look... close. What do you guys want to bet that they're actually landing?

[He's standing out by the river, watching the sky. Feel free to talk to him, anyone passing by. Or via the journal, he's got his.]

[It's not long before Buffy has sleuthed out his location. Well, maybe a little long. It's not like she was looking specifically for Angel. More like, looking around. Yeah. That's right. She was just looking around in a lot of different places and now casually comes across him. It's just a coincidence that her 'just looking around' comes to a tidy little stop at the same time as she 'casually comes across him'.]

Wow. [She breathes the sentiment, looking up at the sky and now standing beside him.]

[He'd seen a few of these showers in his day, but this one was closer.]

Yeah...

I've never really stopped to smell the shooting stars, before. Home didn't exactly have the clear unsmoggy skies that here does, hm?

[She continues to look, quasi-stunned by the...the somethingness of it all.]

Or Los Angeles. [Los Angeles was worse. He's half gazing at the stars, half glancing over at Buffy and her wonder.]

It's possible, but it's not like it'd do much with this barrier around.

I know.

It's still unusual.

Seems like a lot of people aren't used to shooting stars around here.

I've seen them. They just... usually miss the ground.

[Rise pops up behind him, leaning down smiling.]

They'd just bounce off the barrier, you know.

[Oh hey, it's Rise. Not that he didn't hear you from a while off.]

I meant outside.

[Walking walking watching the sky - oh hi there.]

Landing... It won't be very pretty then, if that happens. Especially with the barrier trapping it all in.

[And he's eyeing the stranger for a moment. Then his gaze heads back to the sky.]

They'd be small enough by the time they landed... I doubt they'd damage much.

I've only seen shooting stars like this once before... They're amazing, but - one of them actually landed. If we hadn't done anything, the fires might've reached the village nearby.

That's bad luck, then. I've seen plenty of shooting stars, and the only ones that have landed have been smaller than a baseball.

[And Faith... well, Faith's been swimming. Best thing to do when the sky's falling, hanging around in stuff that a concussion'll leave you dead in.

But she pops up her head for a breather and... hey, Angel! She pulls for the bank.]

Yet another layer to the Angel onion. Didn't think you were one for stargazing.

[A slight smile.]

Not much else to do here, at night.

[She leans her chin against her arm. Man's got a point.]

Not much else to do during the day, either.

[She takes her attention skyward.]

Think that's normal for a place like this? I mean, back home some musty old book'd be all "forsooth! The first signs of the Apocalypse!" or something.

This is the first time since I've been here. [His attention is skyward now too.]
