What really gets me? Apparently

Have you ever eaten a human body? and Have you ever eaten the body of a member of your own species?

are not redundant questions.

Just...the hell?

Somewhere I heard that L. Ron Hubbard started the Dianetics/Scientology thing as a religion - on a BET. Which wouldn't surprise me in the least. Hell, the guy was publishing from beyond the grave for a decade.

Yep. I actually know someone who was at the poker game. It was a group of science fiction writers. They were talking about ways to make money, and Hubbard said, you know, the best way to make a LOT of money is to start your own religion. And apparently he'd already been kind of thinking about this. His friends scoffed, told him to prove he could do it, and well -- the rest is scary history.

::headdesk:: And all of these CRAZIES are like, "Yes, of course, aliens long ago starting taking over our bodies. This makes perfect sense." WTF? Idiots.

Yep. Because the really sad part of it all is that Hubbard was a BAD science fiction writer. So it's not even good science fiction serving as the basis for this nutjob religion, it's bad science fiction about aliens using H-Bombs to blow up volcanoes. Oi.

I love the ones like Have you ever trapped a thetan? which assume that you already know the crazy alien shit before you even sign up. Is it a trick question?
