Snape, as always, was preoccupied in the sense that it didn't matter how many fellow pedestrians he rudely shouldered through. His hands were folded inside the sleeves of he Jedi Master's robes, and while many Coruscantis doubletook at the sight of a Jedi who was, quite frankly, rude, they still gave him a wider berth that Snape found most Jedi on this planet received. However, he was familiar enough with this sort of parting of the crowds to know that it was given out of fear, not respect ( ... )

Lily was used to a great many reactions to her presence - she was the sort of person who seemed to elicit emotions with whatever she did, whether intentionally or not. What she was not used to was being ignored. Especially by this boy. Man. Person. And considering this was the third encounter where he had done exactly this, to say that Lily was off-balance (read: irritated) would be an understatement.

"Oh, no, you are not doing this again. Not in person!" And she reached out and grabbed his arm in an attempt to pull him back to face her. At the very least he wasn't going to be moving anywhere without her attached. "Look at me."

She didn't know what was going on here, and in part, that was the problem. She didn't understand anything that had happened in this world so far unless she found someone else to explain it to her, and as a young woman who had always prided herself on her ability to figure things out without any help whatsoever, it was the ultimate affront. The feel of her hand on his arm made him still. Made this tangible. And Severus had to close his eyes for a moment in order to regain his composure. Having lived the life of a double agent longer than he had not, deceptions and illusions- smoke and mirrors- were something he had to confront before.

This had not been the first time a malicious power had used the brightest spot of his life to toy with him, and he was not willing to weaken his resolve against it.

"Go away," he said resolutely, a command in his tone as he stared only forward.

She was almost glad he hadn't turn to face her then, because the expression of confusion (and perhaps a slight about of hurt) that crossed over her face wasn't one she wanted him to see. Lily's fingers tightened on his arm slightly, involuntarily, nails digging into the dark material of his robes before relaxing again - although she didn't remove her hand.

"You'd like that, wouldn't you?" she snapped to cover how out of her depth she was right now. Being mad at Severus Snape, that was something she knew how to do. He wasn't moving now; she took advantage of this, stepping around so she was standing in front of him. "I'm terribly sorry for your delicate sensibilities, but that's not an option right now."
