Characters: Luke Skywalker and Lion-O Location: Luke's apartment Planet: Coruscant! When: Yesterday, midmorning What: Demonstrating a droid caller when Lifeday music kicks in. Rating: G?
Lion-O made his way over to Luke's apartment, carrying his small droid B-3380. He'd been working on it for a while now, since it had been damaged in the riots. He'd been studying droid repair manuals on datacard, replacing damaged parts, and adjusting internal connections. It still wasn't 100%, but it was functional, more or less.
And, B-3380 now had a restraining bolt. The child-care droid hadn't really done anything that Lion-O thought it needed to be restricted, but he wanted to understand how the tech worked.
Outside the complex, Lion-O sensed he was being watched. He shifted his gaze and saw a street vendor and customer laughing at him. He understood their gestures: he was a grown Cat, carrying around a child's toy. Lion-O sighed, and went inside. He had to start somewhere, and The Boss had given him this droid to work with.
Finally, Lion-O came to the entrance to Luke's apartment.
"Wipe your shoes on the mat." the droid recited from its bank of advice.
"I don't wear shoes," Lion-O told it. But, he wiped his feet.
The remote... Luke was going to have to replace one of its gyros, he thought. Correct that list it had. But for now it would be okay. He shut the access panel, set the thing upright, and thumbed the activation stud, then pulled his hand back. The remote's sensors lit up and its repulsors activated, sending it rising into the air.
Far into the air. It had mistaken the desk for the floor, and was programmed to hover at about one and a half meters above that floor... Luke sighed. Even by the standards of droids in this time, even given that this was a target practice remote with very limited functions, the PX-12 was dim.
Well, he'd worry about that later. Lion-O had got here, and it wouldn't do to leave him outside. Luke opened the door.
"Hello. - No you don't!" One of the spukami had seen the door open and decided to make a break for it - Luke had put a foot out in front of it, and the fluffy black kit wasn't yet coordinated enough to take a running leap over it. "You're terrified of that hallway, remember?"
"I don't know how much they understand," Luke admitted. He stooped to pick up the kit, who squirmed actively in his grasp but purred at the same time, in the irregular rhythm spukami could do. "But if they do get out they get overwhelmed. Too many people going by, and they're not really coordinated... I don't want them getting stepped on."
"Come in, shut the door, I'll get you some water." The hospitality rituals he'd been taught weren't as strong in his mind now, but he still preferred not to just ignore them.

"Does that work?" He asked, laughing. Telling the kit it was frightened of the hallway? He wondered.
