It was an instantaneous reaction; the moment Carver's hand landed on her shoulder she lashed out with the Force, not enough to hurt, but enough to get her away from him. Eyes wide, she turned to face him, words rushing through her head until she could actually piece them together and understand who he was, what he'd asked, and what she'd just done.

"Oh, God - Carver I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to, I just - you gave me a fright, I wasn't expecting anyone." Her words tripped over each other in her rush to get them out. "I'm sorry..."

"I--" She ran her eyes over him, assessing, making sure that she really hadn't hurt him. She could feel the hurt, the guilt bubbling up alongside relief that he was okay, and bit her lip to hold it back. What she'd done had been necessary. Maybe it hadn't been right, but necessary.

She tried to form the words to explain what had happened, but found she couldn't get the words out. She looked down at herself, noting the blood again. "Oh. There is rather a lot of it, isn't there?" A laugh, slightly on edge. "It's not mine. Most of it, I mean. Isn't mine. Some of it probably is."
