She was, Lily realised, covered in quite a bit of blood. Not to a ridiculous extent, but enough that it was certainly noticeable. Probably some of it was hers; the monster that had once been Severus Snape had gotten quite close to her at the end, she thought. But she had killed him, gone looking for him in order to do so, because as much as it hurt knowing that she had taken the life of her oldest friend, as the one person he trusted above all else...
Leaving him in that state would have been worse. That was what she told herself, at least, as she trudged through the streets of Coruscant back towards her apartments.
It was the the sight of those buildings, strangely enough, that did her in. Seemingly innocuous, indistinguishable from the other structures around them, they had nonetheless been her home for a year now. A low cry ripped itself from her throat, and she staggered sideways, leaning against a nearby wall with her hands pressed to her mouth. She had killed him. She could tell herself that she hadn't had a choice in the matter until the cows came home, but the fact remained that he was dead, and she had killed him.
