James has been interested in the swoop tracks since the second he heard about them. Unfortunately he is still quite new in this whole world, let alone with strange machinery. That doesn't stop him from wanting to give it a try.

He sees a set of legs underneath the swoop and prepares to address them when he hears a woman's voice. "I have no idea what you're saying," he says to the legs, "but it sounds angry. Is now a bad time...?"

Jaina took a deep breath at hearing the new voice, setting down the multitool and sucking on her bleeding finger before rolling out from under it.

She absently rubbed the back of her hand across her cheek, smearing some grease on her face with the motion.

"It was supposed to be. Karking bolt got in the way of my hand," she looked up, an eyebrow arching. She had never seen this person at the tracks before, "Want an autograph?"

"No?" James replies to the autograph question. Was she supposed to be someone famous? "I was wanting to learn about swoops and stuff. You're the only person here to bother."

Jaina looked around. Sure enough, she was the only one there to bother.

She tilted her head and ran fingers through her hair in a pathetic attempt to smooth it, "Are you betting on the races?"

[Should she pretend like she didn't see that? Claire doesn't even know what she's doing here, so she stands there awkwardly for a while and then just speaks up a few moments later.]

I think a band-aid works better than...whatever you just were saying. If they even have those here, I mean.

[ Jaina looks up from under her bike, a look of her confusion settling on her face before it clicks ]

Anakin's friend, right?

[She smiles a little at being recognized, and nods.]

Yeah, that's me. I'm Claire. You're...Jaina, right?

Yeah.

[she sits up, using a dirty rag to wipe her hand]

You look a little confused.

[Ren's just sitting there with her, watching her work. Mechanic roommate bonding yay~]

Eventually you gotta teach me that language too.

[she snorts, going back to Fixing the Things under the bike]

It's a real charmer of one. Think you can handle it?

It's only a language. Can't be too hard.

[He's gonna just watch as she works, looking all the tools and such and rummages his pockets for a cigarro.]

One that makes you sound like an overgrown slug. Not sure if it's a langauge you want to pick up.

Not really. Honestly I just wanted out of the apartment for a bit.

[Jaina stills under the bike for a moment because she had been doing a bang up job of avoiding her family so far. She sighs, before going back to work.]

...I have this thing about hand injuries, I guess.

[He almost snorts, and idly picks at his fingernails.]

Well, whatever you do don't kiss our mother with that mouth. Dad, maybe. Mom, no.

[she starts fiddling with the coolant line]

I don't think that's going to be a problem.

Is it really bad enough for all that language? [he kneels down next to her, giving a small smile]

[Jaina swallows. She hasn't talked to Zekk since-]

It's been a long day.

[she keeps her stare fixed on the undercarriage]
