Since everyone seems so fond of doing these kinds of exercise, I figure I should ask a question of my own. How much time do you spend reading this every day? Do you read it only a home or do you take it to work also? Has it affected your efficiency or put you at risk of losing your job ( Read more... )

I've never been better! How about you?

Not really counting the hours, no, but I'm sure that everyone could estimate how much time they've spent on this thing. Either just by paying attention to the time, or looking at a clock and realizing how long they've idled.

Good! Me- it's been alright. Holiday rush is over, and all.

Not a bad thing to spend a while if it's not getting in way of work or friends, right?

Thank goodness! Of course, the rush ending also means that I don't see as many patients, but that is a good thing, I think.

Absolutely! I'm just curious, really, since a lot of people write here frequently.

If this affected my job in the least, I would set it aside at once.

I figured that would be your answer, but do you think that everyone has that same degree of control?

If they do not, then it is a fault in then that they should strive to correct at once.

I wonder if they are then, since I seem to see people writing in this at all times of the day. They must have a lot of free time.

I certainly wish I had more time to look at this, becase it seems like a fascinating way to acquire insights about my fellow city-dwellers.

Work seems to get in the way.

I can understand! My work has allowed me a few moments here and there to look through it, but I usually have to wait until the evening if I want to actually have a conversation with anybody.

I tend to glance over it when I am eating, in the morning, and when I return from work. It seems like people have made friends through this device; I wish I had time to cultivate such a relationship.

It does seem odd to make friends with a person you have never met face-to-face, though.

I can't say that don't prefer the more traditional means of meeting and getting to know people, but the book has become rather invaluable to many people. I couldn't speak on it's success at that, other than by observation.

Do you think some people would take it that far?

Not everyone, but I definitely think that a few could. It wouldn't be surprising.

Maybe. What's your job?

I'm a psychologist.

[a beat] I don't think I've seen your writing before. Are you a new recipient?
