Clearing the atmosphere would be a more reasonable first step, though I am sure extraterrestrial contact would be a strong possibility.

Space is an endless source of information; to look into space is to look back into time, perhaps allowing us to learn more about the solar system and the universe beyond it as well as the creation of both.
