Even throught eh haze of drugs and pain, Beat felt his face redden. Winry's hands on his chest... a harmless little fantasy, yes? He has a claimed man now, but it didn't hurt to enjoy it, just a little.

But when the warm feeling came off her fingers, his enjoyment changed quite a bit. He gasped softly, his head falling back. It hurt, but it was the kind of hurt that relieved pressure. The hurt of something going right. And it was so warm. A tiny hiss escaped him as the bones shifted under her fingers. He knew it should hurt MORE then it did... but it wasn't that bad ( ... )

Ling's eyes widened when he saw what she was going to do. "I didn't know you could do magic." He said a little quietly. Maybe she'd learned while he was away? I'd made sense and all. But then, didn't she say something about that when he was still in Melior? Maybe, maybe not. He couldn't remember.

Was it really so long ago? His concept of time was so disoriented, he couldn't honestly tell.

When she stopped he frowned in concern. "Winry? Are you all right?" He would have been at her side but he was still propping Beat up. Laying him down could cause him pain in some way.

"It's your turn now, yes? You need to get patched up. And lay down."

It took a moment for Winry to realize that the too had spoken and she smiled wanely at what Beat said and then forced her eyes open when Ling spoke ( ... )

Beat also had no idea Winry knew magic until now. But it made sense, in a wierd way. He smiled, tugging off his shirt(it was then that he realized his bandana was gone, goddamnit) he folded it and tucked it under her head. It wouldn't be safe to let her lay out on the open ground for long. Up it would be good for her to rest until they figured out what to do.

"Well... here's da question...er... Ling. What do we do now? We can set up camp here, or try and hoof it to da ship." He looked up, trying to pick out where the ship might of crashed without much luck.

"Ta be honest... I doubt they're gonna come lookin'. Chances are they think we're dead. Hell, I still don' belive it, yo."

Watching Beat stand up gave him some relief, but Winry falling out on the ground like that? Not so much. He quickly got up and made his way over to her when Beat gave her his shirt. Going for the survival kit, he started to do what he could for her scratches and injuries. "She might have a concussion," he mumbled to himself.

Ling glanced up at Beat. What to do now? That was a very good question. Ling thought for a moment, Greed was still out of commission for the present, so he had sometime to be of use. "I ...don't want to move her while she's like this, but, there's monsters in the Badlands, yes? either way will be hard."

Frowning, he tried to think. "Do either of you have a compass, by chance? If so, if you can remember what direction the ship was going in, we could estimate where it landed."

She was grateful for Ling tending her scratches and bruises, and for the makeshift pillow and snuggled her head into it, already beginning to drift towards sleep but she forced herself to stay up. Her eyes were closed, and she was still but she wanted to pay attention until a decision was met, and a plan made.

"There are a lot..." she murmured, "I say we see what all we have. There are some crates that fell out with us around. See if there is anything in them that would be useful, first." She didn't know if Beat had a compass, she didn't, but even if they did mostly like the ship was far away and that would be a difficult journey to make without food or water. That was top priority now.

Beat sighed, shrugging. "No compass, yo. But I have a pretty good idea where we are, generally." He remembered looking down at the bonfires before the crash started. He remembered vaugly where they were then. Plus folks had been talking about aiming towards the river.

"They prolly either headed towards the river." He pointed in the direction he remembered it being from his trip through the Badlands before. "Or Shasta." he changed his point to where he thought the city was. HIs guess was pretty vauge, and he was assuming they hadn't been turned around mid fall.

"But Win's right... we gotta find gear before we do anything. If ya wanna watch over Win, I can get into those crates?"

Ling nodded to them both. Provisions were the top priority regardless of what they did. He continued to work on Winry's injuries so that Beat could get the crates.

He glanced up and then at her.

"I didn't get to finish what I was saying to you last time we got to talk." He said, remembering her nearly beating him with a wrench. "The sword. Breaking it gets me free. The reason I'm out now is because something must have happened to it."

He paused and frowned sadly. She seemed kind of familiar with Greed when she addressed him earlier. "Of course it's up to you."

She thought about Beat's analysis. The River...once they got a good amount of water and food that's where they should head. Even if the ship had gone towards the city, solar stills could only bring so much water and she wasn't sure they'd be able to make it on that. It would be good to go there, stock up, and if they couldn't find them head back to the city. If they didn't find them there, they could at least find a place to hopefully purchase a communication device and get in contact with them ( ... )

Beat nodded at the two of them, and headed out to secure some supplies.

The crates were everywhere, and in various states of destruction. And not many of them had what they could really use; like food or water.

Eventually he found his airboard amoung the wreakage. It was pretty banged up, but he was estatic when a little switch wriggling turned the jets on.

Strapping that onto his back, Beat went back to looking, spotting a crate caught up in a scrub bush. The smell of hard-tack hit his nose. "Yes!" he muttered, moving closer. Tack was nasty stuff, but it was food. Food that wouldn't go bad. He approched, and started to look inside the surprisingly open crate.

The sound of growling from inside was... unexpected.

"Uhhh... Guys?!" he whispered, backing up slowly, hand on his sword.

Ling wasn't expecting such a quick reply. He was pretty sure he was regretting his last comment. He wanted to be free right? But, did he really deserve to be free? Greed was in his body for a reason. What right had to to interfere with the punishment.

But he wanted to be free. Ling was about as conflicted as you could get, but he tried to answer Winry logically. "Because you already know Greed. If you'd rather keep him around, then I won't stop you."

And that was the best he could give her. He looked up as Beat called to them. Standing up he called back. "What wrong?"

At what Ling said her eyes opened and she looked at him incredulously. Had he been able to read her thoughts? The reason he had given didn't seem very good. She knew Ling long before Greed, and they had been very good friends. Or at least she liked to think so. Hell...she might have even had a small infatuation with him. That had been all so long ago, but it had happened, and Winry had hardly forgotten.

"Ling..." she began, but was cut off when Beat called back out to them. The tone of voice he had used made her a little wary, and she forced herself, with great difficulty, to a sitting position and awaited Beat's answer to Ling's question.
