Much to the samurai's luck, it seems that he didn't have to spend his time baking that cake that his fellow comrade wanted. Especially now since it seems that the captain just hired a chef to take care of the problem. Being one of the many who heard the woman's distressing cries about the filthy kitchen, Kambei decided to come aid the newcomer and lend a hand. He was quite exhausted after spending most of the night trying to train Daisukenojo, his new pupil. The boy is as cumbersome as an ox, with two left feet and no sense of grace or style! But despite knowing this about the blond teen, Kambei played the role of the patient tutor rather well for Beat became much more agile by the time the night was over

The repair work from the damage done while the ship had been in Kropmork was finally done. There had been quite a few holes to patch, and it had taken Souji and Heihachi awhile, but the interior finally looked good as new. With that work done, there was only general maintenance and his own little side projects to do, so when Souji had heard the request for help in the kitchen, he'd cleaned himself up and headed over. Hijikata was cooped up in his room, anyway, and Souji thought it would be a shame if everyone had to go without dessert because of a messy kitchen. He really liked dessert.

"Hello," he called, poking his head into the room. "You said you needed help?"

"Yes! Have you come to help? You're just in time. You can have your pick of sweeping and moping the floors... cleaning the dishes or the ice chest, whichever you prefer. The oven needs cleaning as well, though I was going to do that in a moment. Whichever one you prefer."

She grinned and rubbed her dirty hands on an even dirtier apron. "I'm Cimorene, by the way. I'm not sure if I introduced myself before."

"Oh, I can help with the floors," he replied cheerily. "Just point me to the supplies." He had enough experience cleaning up after his own rather messy habits to be well acquainted with the use of a broom and mop.

"I don't think we've met, no... I just saw you needed help and thought I would stop by. I'm Souji. I work as one of the mechanics here."

After reading the woman's post on the journals, Toshirou had run towards the kitchen. There was no way he was going without dessert. His arms, legs, and face were still covered in bandages from the cats, but he was certain he could be of some help anyway.

Running through the open door, Toshirou noticed that not many people had showed up yet. He recognized the tall dark haired man scrubbing some pots and pans in one of the sinks. The young helmsman didn't bother going over and saying hello to Kambei, he was fairly certain the older man would never forgive him for what he'd done.

Turning away he looked towards the lady who'd asked for help in cleaning the kitchen. "I'm more than willing to help if it means I get dessert."

Cimorene grinned. Ahh, so her ploy had worked. There was no better way to motivate people than threatening their stomachs. "It does indeed. I can't very well make desserts in a messy kitchen. In fact, I'll even take requests of my helpers. Your desserts will come first. Mr. Kambei has already started on the pots and pans, so would you mind cleaning up the counters? "

"I have soapy water over here and a rag as well. The counters and all the cupboards need a good scrub down. Once I assign tasks, I'll be back over here to help you. How does that sound?"

Toshirou had to keep from hugging the lady. He'd just met her after all, but he couldn't help but like the idea that his dessert would come first for helping her clean the kitchen.

"Sounds good to me." The young man said, picking up the rag and set to scrubbing the counters.

Cimorene smiled and quickly set everyone else to their tasks. She came back with her own rag and started on scrubbing out the muck from the cupboards. "Alright, so what is your request for dessert? You must have some favorite?"
