Bu-ling, her ears and tail gone again, was taking the time to gather supplies. She wandered from stand to stand inspecting food, counting out how much money she had to spare, and checking items off on an unevenly scrawled list. An-nin sat on her shoulder, chattering to her in monkey language.

She stood in front of a vegetable stand, inspecting potatoes.

Oh man oh man oh man! There was no way he had the cash to get Roxas a new airboard!

Gold had gone out into town to clear his head and figure out what he was going to do about it when he saw... Bu-ling. Wasn't that girl always talking about making money? Perfect.

"Monkey girl!" he called out as he approached, Ataro also sitting on his shoulder with a wide grin. "You gotta help me!"

Bu-ling looked up from the potatoes and smiled, waving with one arm while carrying a fish in the other. "Gold-oniichan! Help with what?"

"Making money!" Gold replied, looking far more desperate than he'd ever looked. The airboard had looked repairable but... his hand slipped at one point and then he really broke it. "You're really good at that, right?"

On his shoulder, Ataro mimicked Gold's expression.

From the moment she had sent that ugly bird out her window Huang Rong had been anxious for some kind of reply. Judging by what little information she could get her hands on, it seemed like the blast didn't reach where her home was...but what if it had sunk in the aftermath? What about her father?

So when she spotted, from atop the Amestris' deck, a member from the Beggars' Sect, she planted one hand on the railing and jump over it. She wasn't particularly worried since she made more dangerous jumps before, and at this point she didn't really care if she was seen.

Ari hoped to hell that this was going to be worth her while. She trusted Deanna Troi even less than she trusted most of the rest of her crewmates, and that was quite a bit. Whether the woman was a damned good tape designer or a spy or both, she couldn't tell, and was almost afraid to know the true answer.

In the meantime, she nursed a cup of coffee at her table at the cafe where they'd arranged to meet, and wondered what she'd have to sacrifice to gain the information she needed.

Casting about for emotions, Deanna knew that Ari was there long before actually setting eyes on her. She smirked when she felt it. Until that moment, she'd had her doubts that Ari would show up. Deanna was very, very well aware that the good doctor did not trust her at all, and that was fine. Wise people never did.

And Ari was very smart, which is why she'd asked for her assistance in the first place. Deanna did not like depending on others for help- she preferred to have a much more hands-on approach to her work, and assistants only ever tended to get in the way. But had little choice at the moment, and she knew it.

Coming up behind Ari, she almost looked as though she was going to put a friendly hand on her shoulder, but she veered at the last moment, and took the seat across from her. "Dear Ariane... how nice."

Ari glanced up as an all-too-familiar set of footsteps approached from behind her, and kept her face a mask of calm while bringing up her mental wall. Much as she didn't like the thought of working with Troi at all, Ari did feel a small bit of satisfaction that Deanna had asked her to help search for information. It meant that the woman was at a disadvantage, and any disadvantage for her made Ari happy.

"Deanna," Ari returned smoothly, privately glad that they'd never made contact. "You don't think I wouldn't show up, do you?"

There was no point in trying to read her thoughts. She knew that even though Ari could not possibly know for certain that she was telepathic, she suspected it enough to be on her guard. So she would wait. The moment would present itself, she was sure, and in the meantime Ari's emotions were fair game.

Ariane was damned proud. That was, of course, why Deanna had initiated the meeting, bowing to the doctor's vanity. It would make this all the easier if Ari believed that she was the one with the advantage. Pouring herself a cup of coffee from the carafe near her companion, Deanna smiled, not wholly unkindly. "I will admit the thought had crossed my mind. I have no illusions to the fact that you don't trust me as far as you could throw me."

Grumman wasn't sure what to do, after the Hegua explosion. On the one hand, it threw a monkey wrench into Bradley's workings, which was good for Grumman. On the other hand, though, taking advantage of it might make him look bad.

The abandoning his ambitions for the time being never crossed his mind.

He wandered the area, from discussion to discussion, trying to get a handle on the general mood, and determine his next move.

Now, who's this, walking through the corridors of the Amestris? Why, it's none other than Commander Edgeworth, the ship's old head of security. He's walking towards Bradley's quarters, back straight and stride quick, with a package under his arms. No doubt it's a late Amicus present of some sort.

At least, that's what it might look like to some people. But to others...well, the commander's presence just might be a little more suspicious to them.

"Excuse me, can I help you?"

Millie, to put it mildly, was not amused. She knew that something was up with Mr. Edgeworth, and that he should not be heading towards the captain's quarters. He shouldn't be here at all! Meg was with her as she stopped "Edgeworth", and her stun gun was under the large duster she always wore.

Spotting Millie speaking with Edgeworth, Susan approached silently, observing the man, Phoenix's warning making her wary of him, no matter that he looked the same... she thought.

"I'm perfectly fine, Miss Thompson," he replied, his voice soft with confusion. Unaware of Susan's presence, he furrowed his brow and asked, "Is something the matter?"
