"Right now? Recon," He replied. "How far does the clearing put us from the target site?"
Reply
No, seriously, what am I doing here? He cleared his throat by way of bulling his way into the conversation.
"And when's happy hour?"
Not that he had that much of value to add.

He glanced back at Ryuuki, his glasses perched on his nose and giving him a stern appearance. "I was thinking we could land a ways away and get a closer look on foot. Not as loud, and we can get more details that way."

He nodded, "And the more we can find out, the better."

Stepping out he covered his eyes from the sun's glare, looking out towards their goal.

"Let's go."

His pistol was already in hand as he ran. He gripped it as he braced for the bang. The explosion rang out like, well, a gunshot. There was no time to verify that the distraction had worked, their plan depended on acting swiftly.
With the smallest cautionary glance to where the guards had been, Fox put his attention on the dancers.

It was then that all hell broke loose. Hisoka's attack hit on the saytrs just as planned, though it's thick hide saved it's head from rolling off, thick black foul smell blood gushed out of the neck wound, and the creature bellowed in surprise.

Fox had been a step ahead of Hisoka when they sprang out of the tree-shadows, and without shifting his gaze from the satyr, Hisoka widened the circle of his attention to locate Fox and to know how he was doing.

He would rather not have been alone, though.
Shoving the thought forcefully from his mind, he visually checked the positions of the sentries again. Three. No problem. Christ, I hope those legs are as awkward for running as they look for picking up chicks... Dean did not let himself think about the others, if Ryuuki's sword would behave itself, if Hisoka was as good a shot as he should be, if Fox was as good as he seemed; instead he counted down the time, keeping a sharp eye for any visible movement that would be his newest friend pelting away from the first part of the distraction ( ... )

But it did it's job regardless, and the two still standing bellowed and gave chase. Even with their twisted legs they were far from slow.

The river in front of him contrived with a particularly thick stand of trees to force him one way or the another. Ticking a third shot onto his mental checklist, Dean paused only long enough to spin and take it before darting to his left away from the river, using the brief glimpse to try to gauge how long it would take this chase to devolve to a fight.

"Going to feed you your own guts slowly before you bleed out human!" It howled, adding a bit more speed to it's step.

It felt like he had been waiting forever already when the gunpowder went off. The moment he heard it, he left his hiding place and swung his sword in a horizontal slash aiming for the nearest satyr's side. It wasn't a kind of wound that would kill immediately, but he aimed deep enough that, if it worked it should make it harder for it to stop him getting to the alter. Because Ryuuki's first goal was to stop the spell, and if the less time he wasted pulling his weapon out of a satyr's body the better.
