Nightmares did not plague Minato, but he was awake all the same. Since he was seven, he's had difficulty sleeping every single night of his life. All he could do was wait until he finally could fall asleep. Then, during the day, he'd feel tired and nap throughout the day. He had tried many, many times over the years to attempt to break this cycle (it couldn't be good for his well being) to no avail. Eventually, he just stopped trying to fight it and reluctantly accepted it as something he could not change ( ... )

Ryuuki knew better than to expect he could go back to sleep after a nightmare, not alone anyway. He used to wander the gardens back home when this happened didn't he? He thought with a rueful sort of smile. Before he started sharing his bed with others.

He was surprised, after walking down a hall to see another person. Ryuuki stopped and stared, not having anyone to have been awake at this hour.

"Hello?"

Ah. A crew member and not another lurking stowaway. The earlier incident had admittedly put Minato a bit on guard. He let himself relax a bit, stepping away from the window. As fascinating as he found it, the moon paled in comparison to another person in terms of interest.

"Good evening," he greeted back. "I didn't know anyone else would be awake at this hour."

"Me neither." He smiled faintly, "I guess you couldn't sleep either?"

There was a slight nervous edge in his voice, a lingering effect of his nightmare, though he tried his best to cover it with a smile.

Kaoru was standing on the deck, staring at the moon as blankly as she stared at anything else. Hearing Ryuuki come onto the deck, she turned around and looked at him.

"Oh. You."

The deck and it's open space would be good, and upon deciding that, Ryuuki headed up to it. He actually didn't see Kaoru at first, too caught up in his own thoughts.

He blinked, surprised when she spoke.

"That's...an odd way to greet someone." He said with a nervous and not altogether true smile.

"It was just what came to mind." She looked back at the moon like he hadn't even shown up. "It's bright. Isn't it?"

"It is."

He looked at her oddly, not doing anything else for a moment before stepping forward to stand beside her, though not too closely.

"What's your name?"

apologies in advance for Jenka possibly being a troll XD causink_trouble November 22 2010, 08:55:34 UTC
Jenka made it a habit to insert a bit of unpredictability into her sleep schedule, whenever work didn't make it impractical. It was interesting to see who was up and about at odd hours.

She was sitting on the ship's railing, quiet and still, watching the ground pass by. Her back was to the deck, and although she heard him walking around, she showed no sign of it for now.

Trolling is good! :D anonymousryuuki November 22 2010, 22:21:56 UTC
Ryuuki somehow managed to miss seeing the person perched on the railing. Normally, he would have noticed, but tonight, there were too many things on his mind.

sorry for quiet, I'm sure she'll do something in the next tag! She just likes to creep up on people. causink_trouble November 22 2010, 23:54:20 UTC
Distracted, was he? Even better. Jenka was curious to see what he was going to do when he thought nobody was watching, so she stayed still for a while longer, grinning to herself as she waited for a good moment to surprise him.

If she was waiting for him to do something interesting, she would be disappointed, since all he did was lean against the rail and sort of stare off into space.
