Characters: Huang Rong and anyone on the Amestris Content: Huang Rong's looking for her quarters. Setting: Somewhere on the Amestris Time: Day Warnings: None I can think of right now.
Honestly? Peppo had much better things to do than guide some lost young girl around. But if there was one thing she knew, people trusted cute girls, so getting on this one's good side would be helpful.
She was not, in fact, lost. (Unless the person who had given her directions had been playing a really bad joke, in which case, the joke was likely going to be on them very soon.)
She smiled at the young woman who had spoken to her, "Yes." She began, "Could you help me get my luggage back to my quarters?" It wasn't that it was heavy; she just didn't want to carry it.
"Of course" Peppo's bright answer belied an inward grumbling which she pushed off with an inward shrug at herself: this was all part of the job. She reached out to take something off the other girl's hands with a "You're on your way to your quarters, miss?"
Chi didn't notice the new person on the ship: there was always new people coming and going, and she was used to it now. It just meant that there was new things she needed to mark and make hers.
But she DID notice the bird in a cage making it's way down the hall. The kitten's eyes went huge, her whole body trembling before she darted down the hall, leaping at the poor confined animal.
It had been more reflex than any actually worry for the animal inside the cage that made Huang Rong move her things out of the way of the grey blur that suddenly flew at her.
Was that...a cat? On a ship like this?
Stranger yet, she could have sworn she had heard a little girl's voice shouting, earlier...
She skidded across the floor, her claws skittering on the wood as she fought to find purchase. But it wasn't long before she has turned around, crouched, her tail lashing.
It was a cat and, unless her ears were deceiving her, it can talk too.
And it didn't take long for Huang Rong to realize what it wanted.
"It's not for you to hunt." She told the cat firmly as she moved the cage so it was behind her, feeling a bit silly as she did so. It was one thing to hear a cat talking; talking to a cat was something else entirely.
Rangiku was walking down the hallway, minding her own business like usual. Or rather, she was avoiding her own paperwork like usual. She had just finished a snack in the kitchen and was busy taking the long way back to that stack of paper when she happened to see a rather cute looking young girl.
Rangiku guessed she was one of the passengers, perhaps the child of a diplomat. Clearly, this meant Rangiku should stop and talk to her for a little while. After all, wasn't that spreading goodwill stuff supposed to part of the Amestris's job? As a member of the military, it was practically a duty in this situation.
"Hello, there!" Rangiku said. "Are you new aboard this ship?"
It was probably a testament to her upbringing that the first thing Huang Rong noticed about the other woman was her weapon. Though she was careful not to stare.
"I just came on board, actually." She said, smiling up at the other woman.
Chase was headed to the infirmary to start his shift. He wasn't really paying attention to his surroundings, instead he was lost in his thoughts. In fact he had just turned a corner...
She wasn't the type to not pay attention to her surroundings, but the thing about corners was that you couldn't see around them, and the stupid pigeon had started acting up so it wasn't like she was even looking up.
So she bumped into the other person coming the other way.
"Watch where you're going." Never mind that she was partly to blame too.
Chase stumbled back a bit, an apology coming out automatically. "I'm so sorry, I should have been paying more attention."
Then he caught her words. Okay, what was her problem? There wasn't any need for that. He kept his temper in check and instead asked. "You're not hurt?"
Rong-er...where are your manners? >A<the19thchiefSeptember 18 2010, 03:00:06 UTC
"Of course not." Like she'd actually get hurt from that.
And maybe, because she was in a pretty good mood, that would have been that. Except, just as pretty things could put her in a good mood, the opposite could happen just as quickly.
"What are you wearing?" Her tone wasn't incredulous yet, but that sounds like the direction its heading in.
Tamaki himself had been wandering the ship, carrying some boxes of tea which he had just bought from the festival. With all the teas stacked over his arms, it was hard to see where and which corner to turn.
Huang Rong tilted her head to one side, then her smile changed into something wider and less friendly, and she hopped to the side quietly so she was standing directly in his path.
Two years as Chief of the Beggars' Sect had not managed to cure her of all her childish ways...
WHY YOU--!!! >A<)9 handsomestSeptember 15 2010, 02:15:19 UTC
Unaware of what was in front of him, Tamaki simply took a step forward, hitting the wall, thing, person that was right in front him, making him lose hold of all his marbles... err... tea boxes.

"Yes." She pointed down the hall, "I was told that it's down that way." Before starting down the hall without so much as a "please" or "thank you".
